This time, we are presenting a case study of an interior renovation in the city of Komae, Tokyo.
In this interior renovation, we carried out a renovation of the entrance hallway and the flooring in the changing room!

Entrance Hallway & Changing Room Flooring Work Procedure

1. Preparation & Demolition of Existing Flooring

First, we will open up the weakened floor area of the existing subfloor and remove the flooring materials! We will carefully remove them to avoid damaging the walls and other structures!

2. Removing the Cushion Floor in the Dressing Room

We will also carefully remove the cushion floor in the dressing room to avoid any damage!

3. Laying Moisture Control Material Under the Floor

Next, we will lay down the moisture control material under the floor! By laying this material, it helps prevent damage to the building from moisture, as well as the growth of mold, dust mites, and termites.

4. Subfloor Adjustment

Before laying the finishing material (flooring), it is an important task to eliminate any unevenness and improve the finish. If the flooring is installed while there are bumps or gaps in the base, it can lead to issues such as the flooring lifting or sinking, so we proceed with caution.

6. Floor Tile and Cushion Floor Finish

Next, we will lay floor tiles in the hallway and cushion flooring in the dressing room over the base. We will make fine adjustments to the size and align the heights during installation, completing the flooring work.

The floor tiles used this time are from Sangetsu: 【Floor Tile　ECT-5120】,
and the cushion flooring is from Sangetsu: 【Cushion Floor　HM-12146】!
