Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Demolition of Existing Ridge and Snow Stops

We will dismantle the areas that interfere with the overlay method (ridge flashing)! This time, we will carefully remove the ridge flashing for reuse.

The durability of wooden purlins is approximately 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the durability period can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the ridge flashing becoming loose or flying off.

2. Installation of New Sheathing

This time, we will be performing cover work after adding new sheathing. We will process and install the new sheathing according to the dimensions!

3. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)

The roofing used is Tajima Roofing/New Liner Roofing.
This is a high-quality underlayment that boasts unmatched waterproofing and durability. By sandwiching the modified asphalt layer between non-woven fabric and base paper, it fully demonstrates the inherent performance of modified asphalt.
The expected durability is approximately 30 years!
As a secondary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks! We will ensure it is firmly attached to prevent it from blowing away.
When selecting roofing sheets, choose those with durability as close as possible to the new roofing materials! New Liner Roofing is relatively close in durability to Danetsu Top, so we recommend using New Liner Roofing when performing roofing work with Danetsu Top!

4. Fabrication of Accessories (Kera, Karakusa, Rain Stopper)

Before the main roof installation, we will process and install accessories such as kera, karakusa, and valley metal!
The materials used for the accessories are galvalume steel sheets!

5. Fabrication of Accessories (Ridge Base)

Before the main roofing work, we will process and install components such as eaves, decorative brackets, and valley metal!
The materials used are made of galvalume steel!

We will install the necessary materials to secure the ridge cap. We offer three types of batten: cedar, resin, and galvalume steel, and this time we used the galvalume steel version!
Galvalume steel has an expected durability that is three times longer than cedar! Unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, so it is reliable!

Our original integrated waste board made of galvalume steel for the ridge base is,
highly durable, has strong fixing power, and excellent wind resistance!
Even if rainwater enters from the ridge, it has a mechanism to discharge rainwater to the outside, demonstrating
high waterproof performance!

6. Main Construction (Sekino Kousan/Dannetsu Top)

After processing the components, we will install the Dannetsu Top main body!

7. Reinstallation of Ridge Cap

The customer mentioned that they are fond of the existing ridge cap, so we will reuse the existing ridge cap. After painting the existing ridge cap, we will reinstall it.

8. Completion

Finally, we will clean the work area. We will thoroughly remove any nails or metal scraps to prevent injuries.

Once the cleaning is complete, the roof overlay will be finished.

About the Roofing Material

The roofing material used is Sekino Kousan’s Dan Netsu Top.

Since Dan Netsu Top is made of Galvalume steel, it has excellent durability and comes with a manufacturer’s coating warranty! 15-year coating warranty and 25-year hole warranty are included!

While it looks very similar to Hirambi, Dan Netsu Top comes with polyethylene foam insulation as a standard feature, not as an option!
Additionally, we provide a 10-year workmanship warranty!
