Roof Overlay Construction Procedure
1. Solar panel removal
2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)
This underlayment boasts the highest quality, unmatched in both waterproofing and durability. By sandwiching a modified asphalt layer between non-woven fabric and base paper, it fully exhibits the inherent performance of modified asphalt.
The expected durability is approximately 30 years!
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks! We will ensure it is securely adhered to prevent it from blowing away.
When selecting a roofing sheet, choose one with a durability as close as possible to the new roofing material! New Liner Roofing has a durability relatively close to Super Galtect, so we recommend using New Liner Roofing when performing roofing work with Super Galtect!
3. Custom Fabrication (Karakusa & Keraba)

The custom pieces used are genuine Galtect parts made of SGL copper plate!
4. Main Construction (Aiji Industrial/Super Galtect)
At the ridge, we will install the necessary ridge base to secure the ridge cap. The materials we handle for the ridge base include three types: cedar, resin, and galvalume steel. This time, we used galvalume steel!
Galvalume steel is expected to have three times the durability compared to cedar! Unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, providing peace of mind!
We recommend choosing a ridge base with a durability similar to that of the new roofing materials, just like the roofing sheet.
For the lower ridge (corner ridge), we use our original integrated waste board type ridge base made of galvalume steel. [/chat]
Our original integrated waste board type ridge base made of galvalume steel is highly durable, has strong fixation, and excellent wind resistance! Even if rainwater enters from the ridge, it has a mechanism to discharge rainwater to the outside, demonstrating high waterproofing performance! It is perfect for the Super Galtect ridge base!
5. Ridge Cap, Ventilation Ridge, and Sealing at Various Locations

Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will firmly apply sealing on the inside of the joint.
The second photo shows the ventilation ridge, which allows heat and humidity from the attic to escape outside. This time, we also installed a new ventilation ridge cap for the customer! The ventilation ridge cap is made of SGL steel plate!
The screws used for fixing are made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust!
We are also using a high-durability sealing material called Auton Exceed. Regular sealing materials have a durability of about 10 years, while high-durability sealing lasts about 30 years. Since leaks can occur from the sealing, we use high-quality materials even for the finer details!
Unlike nails, screws with packing are less likely to come loose and securely fix the ridge cap to the wood!
Although it is not visible after installation, by attaching a face plate inside the ridge cap, we enhance waterproofing!
We will thoroughly protect the ridge, which is a critical point of the roof.

About Roofing Materials
The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates the steel plate and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lightweight compared to other roofing materials, which minimizes the sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry is the most frequently used in our construction achievements, gaining significant attention!

What is the Roof Overlay Method?
The roof overlay method involves leaving the current roof almost as it is and placing a new roof on top of it, effectively covering it.
Literally, it is a method of covering a roof with another roof. Therefore, the roof becomes double-layered. Since the roof is laid on top of another, it is also referred to as “overlapping roofing.”
Benefits of the Roof Overlay Method
Since we place a “new roof” over the “current roof,” demolition work is almost unnecessary, meaning that very little waste is generated.
This is the biggest feature and leads to various benefits.
The only parts that require demolition and waste disposal are the ridge cap, so compared to a complete roof replacement, the cost is lower.
In 2004, regulations regarding the concentration of asbestos in raw materials were changed (please refer to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s website for details).
Some building materials used in structures built before 2004 contain asbestos. Asbestos-containing materials are difficult to demolish due to their high environmental impact, and the costs for demolition and waste disposal are also high. The roof overlay method, which generates almost no waste, is ideal for such roofs.
Some may wonder, “Is it safe to live in a building that uses asbestos-containing materials?” but rest assured. As long as there is no destruction or crushing, it will not disperse into the air.
If you are unsure about the type of roof on your home, please feel free to consult with us.
Additionally, we can complete the work in a shorter time frame than painting or a full roof replacement. A shorter construction period means lower labor costs, which in turn reduces overall expenses.
This also alleviates the psychological anxiety of having to live in a different environment than usual.
When scaffolding is set up, there may be inconveniences such as difficulty entering and exiting or opening windows. Being able to return to normal life in a short period is a significant advantage.
Our company specializes in roofing work, and the roof overlay method is the most frequently performed service we offer. We are very grateful that we have been continuously engaged in roof overlay projects without interruption.
