Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Dismantling Existing Ridge and Snow Stops

We will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge flashing) for the overlay method! The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the durability period can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the ridge flashing coming loose or scattering.

2. Laying Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)

Next, we will apply the waterproof sheet! The roofing material used is Jouyu Pulp Industry/Sunlight G!
This is a modified asphalt roofing material, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
With the role of primary waterproofing, if the roofing is solid, there will be no leaks! We will apply it securely to prevent it from blowing away.

3. Fabrication of Accessories (Karakusa and Keraba)

Before the main roof construction, we will fabricate and install accessories such as keraba and karakusa!
The accessories used are the genuine accessories from Galtect, made of SGL copper plate!

4. Main Construction (Aiji Industry/Super Galtect)

After fabricating the accessories, we will install the Galtect main roofing up to the ridge!
Once we have installed it up to the ridge, we will set up a material called a “kanban” that is necessary to secure the ridge cap. There are types of kanban made of cedar and resin, and this time we used the resin type!
The resin type is expected to have twice the durability of the cedar type!

5. Processing of Ridge Cap and Sealing at Various Locations

Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will firmly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. At the wall edge, we will process and install a component called a rain guard.
The nails and screws used for fixing are made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust!

6. Cleaning

We will clean up the debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We conduct thorough cleaning to prevent injuries from nails and metal scraps. Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to ensure it looks pristine.

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial.
The Super Galtect comes with a 15-year paint warranty and a 25-year hole warranty from the manufacturer.
We also provide a 10-year construction warranty!
Made from SGL steel, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is thoroughly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates steel and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a highly heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Being lighter than other roofing materials, it also minimizes sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial is the most frequently used in our construction projects and is gaining significant attention!

Joint Replacement Work Procedure

1. Removal of Existing Sealant

Remove the existing sealing material using a cutter or similar tool.
It is referred to as sealing, caulking, or joints. It can easily lead to water leaks and is crucial as it can cause siding to crack or lift. Cracks and peeling are signs of deterioration!

2. Masking Tape Application

Check the position to apply the tape and attach it carefully to avoid embedding into the surface.

3. Primer Application

Apply the primer with a brush or similar tool, ensuring there are no missed spots.

4. Filling with Sealing Material

Place the nozzle of the caulking gun against the bottom of the joint and fill it adequately.

5. Finishing with a Trowel

Use a trowel that matches the width of the joint to press firmly and finish smoothly.

6. Removal of Masking Tape

Remove the masking tape promptly after finishing.
