Exterior Wall Painting Construction Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing

First, we thoroughly remove dirt and moss from the exterior walls using high-pressure washing! We also wash the exterior structures and concrete floors as well.

2. Protection of Various Areas

Next, we will protect areas that will not be painted, such as windows, sashes, and floors, using masking tape, blue sheets, and polymer masks. This is a very important task in the painting process! If we neglect the protection, gaps may form, allowing paint to seep in, or we may not achieve clean lines.

3. Primer Coat

This is the first application of paint after high-pressure washing and substrate treatment, which ensures that the middle and top coats adhere well to the surface. By applying the primer coat thoroughly, we can significantly improve durability and finish! The primer we use is from SK Kaken, an elastic premium filler. It also has substrate adjustment functions, filling in fine cracks!

4. Intermediate Coat

Next is the intermediate coat. This is an important step to bring out the performance of the paint, achieve a beautiful finish, and eliminate unevenness!

5. Top Coat

Next is the top coat. This is the finishing touch for the exterior wall painting. We will be mindful to ensure there are no uneven areas or missed spots, achieving a beautiful finish! We used SK Kaken’s premium silicone paint. The manufacturer’s expected durability is said to be about 14 to 16 years. Since the existing exterior wall is made of mortar, this paint is a good match.

6. Painting of Auxiliary Parts (Eaves Gutter, Handrails, Gates)

After finishing the surface preparation such as scraping, we will apply the primer and topcoat to complete the work!
