This is a case study of exterior renovations in Nerima-ku, Tokyo.

This time, the construction involves the roof overlay (cover method) using Super Galtect!
We implemented measures against leaks through roofing work!

The existing roofing material is Grishade NEO, which is prone to cracking and not recommended for painting, so we proposed the cover method!

Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Existing Roof Ridge Flashing

We will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge flashing) for the cover method! The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Once the durability period is exceeded, corrosion and discoloration can occur, leading to the detachment and scattering of the ridge flashing.

2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)

The roofing used is Jouyu Pulp Industry/Sunlight G!
It is made of modified asphalt roofing, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks!
We will ensure it is securely attached to prevent it from blowing away.

3. Component Processing (Curlicue, Eaves, Valley)

Before the main roofing work, we will process and install components such as eaves and decorative elements!

The components used are genuine parts from Galttect, made of SGL copper plate!

4. Main Construction (Aijii Industry / Super Galttect)

After processing the components, we will install the Galttect material up to the ridge!
Once the installation reaches the ridge, we will set up the necessary materials to secure the ridge cap, known as a “kanban.” There are types of kanban made from cedar and resin, and this time we used the resin type!
The resin type is expected to have three times the durability compared to the cedar type!

5. Ridge Cap Processing and Sealing

Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will thoroughly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. For the wall edge, we will process and install a component called a rain guard.
The nails and screws used for fixing are made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust!

6. Cleaning

We will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove items like nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to ensure it is clean.

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
Made from SGL steel, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates steel and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lightweight compared to other roofing materials, which minimizes shaking during earthquakes, making it a good earthquake countermeasure.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry is the most frequently used in our construction achievements and is receiving considerable attention!
