Ridge Cap Replacement & Eaves Cap Processing
We always appreciate your support. We received a request for roofing work from our main contractor, Company F.
This time, it involves partial repairs, specifically the replacement of the ridge cap and processing of the eaves cap.
It appears to be damage caused by wind disasters such as typhoons.
The wood inside the ridge cap (the wood underneath) was quite decayed.
If the wood inside the ridge cap decays, it can lead to the ridge cap detaching and scattering in strong winds, which is very dangerous.
Additionally, the top part of the roof, known as the ridge, is not covered by roofing materials, making it prone to leaks.
It is considered a critical point of the roof.
However, the decay of the wood inside the ridge cap is difficult to notice since it is internal.
Therefore, we recommend replacement every 10 years.
The ridge cap is very prone to detachment, so if it is left unattended after coming loose, it can accelerate the progression of decay.
Thus, we recommend annual maintenance.
