We received an inquiry from a customer residing in Minato-ku who saw our website, stating, “The dirt on the exterior walls is quite noticeable, and it’s about time for exterior painting work, so I would like you to take a look!”

Exterior Painting Construction Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing

First, we thoroughly remove dirt and moss from the exterior walls using high-pressure washing! If dirt remains, it will affect the adhesion and durability of the paint, so we wash it carefully. We also wash the balcony and the ground. The white foam is from the bio-cleaning process!

2. Surface Preparation

Once the high-pressure washing is complete, we will assess the condition of the exterior walls and perform substrate adjustments such as crack repairs.

3. Protection of Various Areas

Next, we will protect areas that will not be painted, such as openings, floors, and roofs, using masking tape, blue sheets, and polymer masks. This is a very important task in the painting process!

Neglecting protection can create gaps, allowing paint to seep in or resulting in uneven lines.

4. Primer Application

This is the first application of paint after high-pressure washing and substrate treatment, which ensures that the middle and top coats adhere properly to the surface. A thorough primer application significantly impacts durability and finish quality!

5. Middle Coat

Next is the middle coat. This is a crucial step to enhance the performance of the paint, achieve a beautiful finish, and eliminate unevenness!

6. Top Coat

Next is the top coat. This will be the finishing touch for the exterior wall painting. We will focus on ensuring a beautiful finish without any unevenness or missed spots!

We used SK Kaken’s Escape Premium Silicon for the paint. The manufacturer’s expected durability is said to be about 14 to 16 years.

7. Painting of Additional Parts (rain gutter, water cutting, cap, rooftop lattice, eaves, drainage pipe, slim duct, entrance door)

After finishing the surface preparation such as scraping for the attached parts, for iron components, we apply a rust preventive primer, followed by mid-coat and top-coat using Rock Paint’s Yumelock. For the eaves, we use Nippon Paint’s Ken Ace. We ensure that every detail is thoroughly painted!
