300,000 to 400,000 yen Construction Period Approximately 1 week Completion Month October 2025 Background to the Construction We received an inquiry from a customer living in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, stating, “My house is 56 years old, and the paint on the eaves and rain gutters is peeling off, so I would like to get an estimate!”

Roof Replacement Construction Procedure

1. Dismantling Existing Roofing Material

We will dismantle the existing roofing material! Since the shingle material is adhered to the substrate, we will peel it off using a scraping tool or crowbar. The existing substrate had localized corrosion, particularly at the eaves.

2. Installing New Roof Sheathing

After dismantling the existing roofing materials, we will process and install new sheathing boards to fit the dimensions!

3. Installing Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)

Next, we will install the roofing sheet (waterproof sheet)!

With the role of secondary waterproofing, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks! We will ensure it is firmly attached to prevent it from blowing away. The roofing sheet used is Tajima Roofing / Tadi Self Cover. Its durability is approximately 30 years, making it a highly durable roofing sheet. If the roofing material is highly durable, we recommend matching the durability of the roofing sheet as well.

4. Fabrication of Accessories (Karakusa and Keraba)

Before the main roofing work, we will fabricate and install accessories such as keraba and karakusa!

The accessories used are made of SGL steel plate. SGL steel plate offers three times the corrosion resistance compared to Galvalume steel plate!

5. Main Construction (Inagaki Shouji / Stanby 455)

After processing the ridge materials, we will install the Stanby 455 body all the way to the ridge! The method for securing the roofing material will be with stainless steel screws that have undergone disco treatment.

Once the roofing is completed up to the ridge, we will install the ridge base to secure the ridge cap. We offer three types of ridge boards: cedar, resin, and Galvalume steel, and this time we used Galvalume steel!

Galvalume steel is expected to have three times the durability compared to cedar! Unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, providing peace of mind!

Our original integrated waste board made of Galvalume steel for the ridge base is highly durable, has strong fixing power, and excellent wind resistance! Even if rainwater enters from the ridge, it has a mechanism to discharge rainwater to the outside, demonstrating high waterproof performance!

6. Processing and Sealing of Ridge Cap

We will process and install the ridge cap. To enhance waterproofing, we will install a face plate on the inside of the ridge! We will firmly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. The screws used for fixing are made of rust-resistant stainless steel with waterproof packing!

Screws with packing are less likely to come loose compared to nails, securely fixing the ridge cap to the ridge board!

Although it is not visible after installation, the addition of a face plate on the inside of the ridge cap enhances waterproofing!
It firmly protects the ridge, which is a critical point of the roof.

7. Cleaning

We will clean up the debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove items like nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is Inagaki Shouji / Stanby 455. Stanby 455 comes with a 15-year paint film warranty and a 25-year hole warranty. For re-roofing and overlaying, we also provide a 15-year construction warranty!

It is made of Galvalume steel, which is resistant to rust. We focus on the basic functions of the roof, such as water drainage and strength, and by applying ripples and ribs to the surface of the roofing material, we enhance the strength of the roof surface and prevent the phenomenon of panel noise.

For roofs with a slope of 2.5 shaku or less, please be sure to choose a vertical roofing method like Stanby! Horizontal roofing methods like Colonial or Galtect are not allowed!

Additionally, since it is a molded integrated standing seam roof that does not require hanging pieces or closures, it is constructed from a single long metal sheet from the peak of the roof to the eaves, eliminating horizontal seams that could obstruct the flow of rainwater and provide opportunities for water to enter beneath the roofing material, thus minimizing the risk of leaks. It is recommended for homes with a gentle roof slope.

Moreover, it is the lightest among metal roofs, and by reducing the weight of the roof, it is possible to make your home more earthquake-resistant through re-roofing.
