We are Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd., a specialized company for roofing, exterior wall painting, and exterior renovations located in Aoba-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture!
This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Aoba-ku, Yokohama.
First, there are several types of exterior renovations, and the work we are doing this time is a roof replacement project (Super Galtect)!
We implemented measures against leaks through the roofing work! Additionally, we also replaced the eaves metal and painted the decorative boards!

We are replacing 30-year-old Monier tiles with Super Galtect!
Super Galtect has higher insulation properties than tiles, while also being highly durable and unbreakable! Its weight is about one-tenth that of existing tiles, greatly improving seismic resistance! It’s all good news!

Roof Replacement Construction Procedure

1. Demolition of Existing Roofing Materials

First, we will dismantle the existing roofing materials (tiles)! We will remove the tiles, soil, and tile battens!

2. Installation of New Sheathing

After dismantling the existing roofing material, we will process and install new sheathing boards to fit the dimensions!

3. Installing Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)

Next, we will lay the roofing sheet (waterproof sheet) on top of the underlayment! The roofing used is Tajima Roofing/New Liner Roofing!
This underlayment boasts top-quality waterproofing and durability that is unmatched by others. By sandwiching the modified asphalt layer between non-woven fabric and base paper, it fully demonstrates the inherent performance of modified asphalt.

4. Fabricating Accessories (Karakusa, Keraba, Valley)

Next, before the main roofing work, we will fabricate and install accessories such as keraba, karakusa, and valley metal!
The materials used for the accessories are SGL steel plates.

5. Main Construction (Aiji Industrial/Super Galtect)

Next, we will install the Galtect main body up to the ridge!
Once we have installed it up to the ridge, we will set up the necessary materials to secure the ridge cap called “kanban.” There are two types of kanban: cedar and resin, and this time we used the resin type!
The resin type is expected to have twice the durability compared to the cedar type!

6. Processing of Ridge Cap and Sealing at Various Locations

In the final stage, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will apply sealing thoroughly on the inside of the joints.
For the wall edge, we will process and install a component called “ameosae-bakin” (rain guard metal).
The screws used for fixing are stainless steel packing screws that are resistant to rust!

7. Cleaning

Finally, we will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony or rain gutter. We will thoroughly remove items like nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. We will also wipe away any footprints left on the roof to ensure it looks clean.

Canopy Metal Roofing Replacement

1. Existing Canopy Metal Dismantling

First, we will dismantle the existing canopy metal! The underlying sheathing is corroded at the edges…

2. New Sheathing Installation

Next, we will process and install new sheathing to fit the dimensions! We will apply a preservative to the new sheathing.

3. Roofing Sheet Installation & Accessory Processing

Next, we will install the roofing sheets!

The roofing material used is Tajima Roofing/Tadis Self!
It is made of a delayed adhesive modified asphalt roofing material, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
With the roofing providing primary waterproofing, if it is properly installed, there will be no leaks!
We will ensure it is firmly adhered to prevent it from blowing away.

On top of that, we will process and install decorative elements such as arabesques! The decorative elements used are made of Galvalume steel!

4. Sheet Metal Processing and Sealing

Finally, we will process the sheet metal and apply sealing! Since it is made of Galvalume steel, it is resistant to rust! After caulking treatment, the work will be completed! The new flat sheet is JFE Steel/Extreme MAX. The manufacturer guarantees a 15-year paint warranty and a 25-year hole warranty!

5. Completion

The Super Galtect comes with a 15-year paint warranty and a 25-year hole warranty from the manufacturer.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
It is made of SGL steel, which is also resistant to rust.
Insulation material is thoroughly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates steel and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter living environment.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lightweight compared to other roofing materials, which reduces the sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and our company’s installation records show that the Super Galtect by Aijii Industrial is the most popular and highly regarded!
