The ridge cap is the metal covering that wraps around areas of the roof, such as the peak, where roofing materials cannot be laid.
It is susceptible to damage from wind disasters and can cause leaks.
Ridge Cap Replacement Procedure
1. Existing Ridge Demolition
We will remove the old ridge cap and the internal wood batten. Care is taken not to break the roofing materials during this process.
It is recommended to replace the internal wooden batten every 10 to 15 years.
Once the ridge cap is removed, the internal batten will be visible.
2. Installation of New Batten
We will install a new batten. This time, we used a resin batten that is resistant to corrosion.
3. Sealing Ridge Cap Joints
We will apply sealing to the inside of the overlaps to enhance strength and waterproofing.
4. Installation of New Ridge Cap
We will process the ends and joints and install them.
5. Clean up and complete!
That’s all!
