This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Machida City, Tokyo.
There are several types of exterior renovations, and this time we will be replacing the wood deck!

Wood Deck Construction Procedure

1. Demolition of Existing Wood Deck

First, we will demolish the existing wood deck!

2. Installation of Footing Stones and Posts

Next, we will excavate the soil and install the footing stones and posts. It is important to ensure level during this process, so we will check the condition using a level and proceed with the work. The footing stones will be secured with concrete to prevent shifting or sinking.

3. Fixing the Footing Stones and Installing the Joists

Next, we will pour mortar into the excavated area and secure the foundation stones. Once the securing is complete, we will cover the mortar area with gravel. Next, we will install the joists and secure them with screws.

4. Wood Deck Main Construction (LIXIL / Juralak Stage)


After completing the work up to the joists, we will proceed with the construction of the wood deck itself! The material will be resin.

5. Installation of the Skirting Board


Once the wood deck construction is complete, we will install the skirting board, which serves to reinforce the outer joists and enhance the appearance!

6. Cleaning


We will clean up any fallen debris, and the project will be completed!
