Joint Replacement Construction Procedure

1. Removal of Existing Sealing Material

We will remove the existing sealing material using a cutter or similar tools. This is referred to as sealing, caulking, or jointing. It is prone to causing leaks and can lead to cracking or lifting of the siding, making it a critical area. Cracks and peeling are signs of deterioration! We will apply new bond breakers in areas where the bond breaker preventing three-sided adhesion has come off.

2. Masking Tape Application

We will check the position for applying the tape and carefully adhere it to avoid embedding into the surface.

3. Primer Application

We will apply the primer with a brush or similar tool, ensuring there are no missed spots.

4. Filling with Sealing Material

Next, we will apply the sealing. Place the nozzle of the caulking gun against the joint base and fill it sufficiently.

The sealing material used this time is Sunstar Giken / Penguin Seal (two-component polyurethane seal). Polyurethane-based sealing materials have high adhesion, are inexpensive, and offer excellent cost performance. However, they have disadvantages such as low weather resistance, vulnerability to ultraviolet rays, and a tendency to attract dust, so protection through painting is necessary when used outdoors.

The durability is approximately 10 to 15 years, making it a cost-focused material!

5. Trowel Finishing

Press firmly with a trowel that matches the joint width and finish smoothly.

6. Removal of Masking Tape

Immediately remove the masking tape after finishing.

Exterior Painting Construction Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing

First, we thoroughly remove dirt and moss with high-pressure washing of the exterior walls! If dirt is left behind, it can affect the adhesion and durability of the paint, so we wash carefully. We also wash the exterior structures, concrete floors, and inside the rain gutters as well.

3. Protection of Areas

After the high-pressure washing is complete, we will protect areas that will not be painted, such as windows, frames, and floors, using masking tape, blue sheets, and polymer masks. This is a very important task in the painting process!

Neglecting protection can create gaps, allowing paint to seep in or resulting in uneven lines.

3. Surface Preparation

Next, we will perform surface preparation, such as crack repairs, while assessing the condition of the exterior walls.

4. Primer Application

After completing high-pressure washing and surface preparation, the first step in applying paint is the primer, which ensures that the middle and top coats adhere firmly to the surface. A well-applied primer significantly impacts durability and finish quality!

The primer for the siding surface is SK Kaken’s water-based SD Surf Epoxy Premium. It also has surface adjustment capabilities, sealing fine cracks!

5. Middle Coat

Next is the middle coat. This is a crucial step to bring out the performance of the paint, achieve a beautiful finish, and eliminate uneven application!

6. Top Coat

Next is the top coat. This is the finishing touch for the exterior wall painting. We focus on ensuring there are no uneven areas or missed spots, resulting in a beautiful finish!

The paint used is SK Kaken’s Escape Premium Silicon. The manufacturer’s expected durability is said to be around 14 to 16 years.

7. Painting of Auxiliary Parts (Drip Edge, Rain Gutter, Fascia, Soffit, Eaves, Drain Pipe, Shutter Box)

Slim Duct

The slim duct is disassembled for painting to avoid sticking! By detaching it for painting, we can thoroughly paint the exterior wall beneath the slim duct as well!

After finishing the surface preparation such as scraping for the attached parts, for iron parts, we apply a rust preventive primer, followed by a mid-coat and top-coat with Yumelock. We ensure that every detail is thoroughly painted!
