Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Demolition of Existing Ridge and Snow Stops

First, we will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge flashing) for the overlay method!The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. We will leave the ridge purlin intact!

2. Installing Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)

Next, we will apply the waterproof sheet! The roofing used isTajima Roofing / Tadi Self Cover!
This is a highly durable non-woven fabric roofing!
The roofing acts as the final waterproof layer protecting the roof, serving as a secondary waterproofing measure.
If this roofing is solid, leaks will generally not occur!

We will apply it securely to prevent it from being blown away by the wind.
Since there are various durability years and characteristics for roofing sheets, it isimportant to choose roofing sheets that match the durability of the roofing materials and the roof slope!

3. Fabricating Accessories (Karakusa, Eaves, Valley)

Before the main roof construction, we will fabricate and install accessories such as eaves, karakusa, and valleys!
The accessories used are genuine Galtect accessories made ofSGL steel plate!

4. Main Construction (Aiji Industrial / Super Galtect)

We will install the Galtect main body up to the ridge!
Once we have installed it up to the ridge, we will set up the necessary materials to fix the ridge cap, known as the kanban. We offer three types of kanban: cedar, resin, and Galvalume steel. This time, since the customer requested high durability, we used a Galvalume base for the ridge.

Galvalume steel is expected to have three times the durability of cedar! Unlike resin or cedar, it won’t crack, so it’s safe!

5. Processing of Ridge Cap and Sealing at Various Locations

Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will thoroughly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. The sealing material used this time is Autochem’s Auton Exceed. Auton Exceed is a super high-durability sealing material with a lifespan of about 30 years. It offers nearly three times the durability of urethane and silicone-based materials!!

For the wall edge, we will process and install a component called a rain stop flashing.
We will use stainless steel nails and screws that are resistant to rust!

6. Cleaning

We will clean up the debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove items like nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. Additionally, we will wipe off any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is thoroughly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates the steel plate and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the areas where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lightweight compared to other roofing materials, which reduces the sway during an earthquake, providing earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial is the most frequently used in our construction achievements, gaining significant attention!
