We are Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd., a specialist in roofing, exterior wall painting, and exterior renovations located in Aoba-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture!
This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Higashiyamato City, Tokyo.
The work this time involves a roof overlay (cover method) using Nichiha/Pamir and Super Galtect for leak prevention!
Since Nichiha/Pamir is a roofing material that cannot be painted, we proposed a cover work!

Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Existing Roof Ridge Cap

We will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge cap) for the overlay method!The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the durability period can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the ridge cap coming loose or being blown away.

2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)

The roofing used is Jouyu Pulp Industry/Sunlight G!
It is made of modified asphalt roofing, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
If the roofing is solid, it will serve its role as the primary waterproofing, preventing leaks! We will ensure it is securely attached to avoid any issues.

3.Accessory Processing (Karakusa and Keraba)

Before the main roofing work, we will process and install accessories such as keraba and karakusa!

The accessories used are the genuine accessories from Galttect, made of SGL copper plate!

4. Main Construction (Aijii Industry/Super Galttect Fluorine)

After processing the accessories, we will install the Galttect main roofing up to the ridge! Super Galttect Fluorine has a warranty period for the coating that is 5 years longer than Galttect, making it a highly durable roofing material.
Once the roofing is completed up to the ridge, we will install the necessary materials to secure the ridge board, known as the kanban. There are two types of kanban: cedar and resin, and this time we used the resin type!
The resin type is expected to have twice the durability compared to the cedar type!

5. Ridge Cap Processing and Sealing at Various Locations

Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will thoroughly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. At the wall edge, we will process and install a component called a rain guard metal.
We will use stainless steel nails and screws that are resistant to rust!

6. Cleaning

We will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove nails and metal scraps to prevent injuries. Additionally, we will wipe off any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
We also provide a 10-year construction warranty!
It is made of SGL steel plate, which is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates the steel plate and insulation.
During installation, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a highly heat-resistant paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Being lighter than other roofing materials, it also minimizes shaking during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial is the most frequently used in our construction projects and is highly regarded!
