Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Dismantling Existing Ridge and Snow Stops

First, we will dismantle the unnecessary parts (ridge flashing) for the overlay method! The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. The ridge purlin will be left intact!

2. Installing Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)

Next, we will apply the waterproof sheet! The roofing used is Tajima Roofing / New Liner Roofing!
It is a highly durable non-woven fabric roofing!
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, it generally will not leak!
We will secure it well to prevent it from being blown away by the wind.
Since there are various durability years and characteristics for roofing sheets, it is important to choose roofing sheets that match the durability of the new roof and the roof slope!

3. Fabrication of Accessories (Curlicue, Eaves, Valley)

Before the main roofing work, we will process and install components such as eaves, decorative brackets, and valleys!
The components used are genuine parts from Galtect made of SGL steel plate!

4. Main Construction (Aiji Industrial / Super Galtect)

After processing the components, we will install the Galtect roofing material up to the ridge!
Once the roofing is completed up to the ridge, we will install necessary materials called “nuki” to secure the ridge flashing. We offer three types of nuki: cedar, resin, and Galvalume steel, and since the customer requested high durability this time, we used Galvalume for the ridge base.

Galvalume steel is expected to have three times the durability compared to cedar! Unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, providing peace of mind!

5. Ridge Flashing Processing & Sealing

Next, we will process and install the ridge flashing. We will thoroughly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. The sealing material used this time is Auton Chemical’s Auton Exceed. Auton Exceed is a super high-durability sealing material with a lifespan of about 30 years. It offers nearly three times the durability of urethane or silicone-based materials!!

*Note: Since Auton Exceed takes time to cure, if exterior wall painting is to be done after sealing work, it must be left for several days to cure.

For the wall edges, we will process and install a component called rain stop flashing.
The nails and screws used for securing are made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust!

6. Cleaning

We will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony or rain gutters. We thoroughly remove items like nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to ensure it looks pristine.[/chat]

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is Aijii Industry’s Super Galtect.
Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is densely applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates steel and insulation.
During installation, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter experience.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lighter compared to other roofing materials, which minimizes the sway during earthquakes, making it a good earthquake-resistant option.
