Steps for Eaves Metal Replacement
1. Partial Temporary Scaffolding Installation
We create a stage to store the roofing materials.
2. Temporary Dismantling of Existing Ridge Metal
This time, we will reuse the ridge metal, so we carefully remove it to avoid any damage or deformation while replacing the purlin.
3. Temporary Dismantling of Roofing Materials
We carefully remove and transport the roofing materials to reuse them without breaking. As a precaution, we brought two bundles of spare materials in case of breakage. Since two pieces broke, we replaced them with new ones.
4. Completion of roof dismantling, new eaves processing and installation
5. Installation of new purlins
We will install new purlins.
6. Installation of existing ridge flashing
We will reapply the caulking that was cut.
7. Dismantling the scaffolding and completion!
That concludes the process.
This time, we dismantled a significant portion of the roofing materials, but we used special tools to carefully extract only the part of the colonial that was entangled with the eaves. When extracting only a part, the upper roofing materials can obstruct the reinstallation, and the only way to secure it is with caulking.
Since the client wanted to securely fasten it with nails, we stripped the roofing materials up to the eaves.
