In this interior renovation, we renovated the dining kitchen floor from flooring to cushion floor!

We received a consultation from a customer who previously requested roofing work, saying, “The kitchen floor is sinking, so I would like you to take a look!”
Due to aging, the floor was in a state of sinking, so we proposed to repair part of the subfloor and then renovate it to a cushion floor!

Dining Kitchen Floor Work Procedure

1. Opening of Existing Floor Section

This time, our customer consulted us about wanting to renovate their kitchen floor, which had deteriorated over the years!

After listening to the customer’s requests, we proposed a renovation to a cushion floor in the dining kitchen, and we carried out an interior reform from flooring to cushion floor!

First, we opened up the weakened floor area of the existing subfloor and began removing the flooring! We carefully removed it to avoid damaging the walls and other structures!

2. Subfloor Reinforcement and Height Adjustment

Next, we will assemble and reinforce the joists (framework). The ends are kept slightly away from the walls to prevent creaking sounds.

With the joists in place, the load applied to the floor is distributed, enhancing safety.

We will also perform the essential height adjustments during the subfloor preparation!

3. Plywood Underlayment

Next, we will lay down the plywood for the subfloor. We will attach the plywood on top of the joists to prevent moisture from the ground below.

4. Substrate Adjustment

Before laying the finishing material (flooring), it is an important task to eliminate any unevenness and improve the finish.

If the substrate has unevenness or gaps when the flooring is installed, it can lead to issues such as lifting or sinking of the flooring, so we proceed with caution.

6. Cushion Floor Installation

Next, we will lay the cushion floor over the substrate. We will make fine size adjustments and align the height during installation, completing the cushion floor installation.

7. Installation of Underfloor Storage (Reuse of Existing)
