Joint Replacement Construction Procedure

1. Removal of Existing Sealing Material

We will remove the existing sealing material using a cutter or similar tool. This is commonly referred to as sealing, caulking, or jointing. It is prone to causing leaks and can lead to cracking or lifting of the siding, making it a crucial area. Cracks and peeling are signs of deterioration! If the bond breaker that prevents three-sided adhesion is peeling, we will apply a new bond breaker.

2. Masking Tape Application

We will check the position for applying the tape and carefully attach it to avoid embedding into the surface.

3. Primer Application

We will apply the primer with a brush or similar tool, ensuring there are no missed spots.

4. Sealing Material Filling

Next, we will apply the sealing material. Place the nozzle of the caulking gun against the bottom of the joint and fill it adequately.

The caulking material used for this work is Sunrise / SR Seal H100. It has a durability of about 30 years and is extremely high durability, ultra-low pollution, flexible, and resistant to dirt.

5. Finishing with a Trowel

Use a trowel that matches the joint width to press firmly and finish smoothly.

6. Removal of Masking Tape

Remove the masking tape promptly after finishing.

Exterior Wall Painting Construction Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing

First, we thoroughly remove dirt and moss from the exterior walls using high-pressure washing! If dirt remains, it can affect the adhesion and durability of the paint, so we wash carefully. We also wash the exterior structures, floors, and inside the rain gutters.

3. Protection of Areas

After high-pressure washing, we protect areas that will not be painted, such as windows, sashes, and floors, using masking tape, blue sheets, and polymer masks. This is a very important task in the painting process!

Neglecting protection can create gaps, allowing paint to seep in or resulting in uneven lines.

3. Surface Preparation

Next, we will perform substrate adjustments such as crack repairs while checking the condition of the exterior walls.

4. Primer

This is the first step of applying paint after high-pressure washing and substrate treatment. It is a primer that ensures that the middle and top coats adhere well to the surface. By applying the primer thoroughly, there will be a significant difference in durability and finish!

The primer for the siding surface is SK Kaken’s water-based SD Surf Epoxy Premium. It also has substrate adjustment functions, sealing fine cracks!

5. Middle Coat

Next is the middle coat. This is an important process to bring out the performance of the paint, achieve a beautiful finish, and eliminate unevenness!

6. Top Coat

Next is the top coat. This is the finishing touch for the exterior wall painting. We will ensure that there are no uneven spots or missed areas, focusing on achieving a beautiful finish!

The paint used is SK Kaken’s Escape Premium Silicon. The manufacturer’s expected durability is said to be about 14 to 16 years.
