T-san’s residence in Kamakura City: Roof replacement work (overlay work) using Galtect. This is the before and after.

This is a roof overlay work utilizing fire insurance in Kamakura City.
Thanks to the fire insurance, we were able to significantly reduce the customer’s burden.

The construction period is a total of 4 days.

About the Roofing Material Used

The roofing material used is Aijii Industry’s Super Galtect.
Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
Additionally, it is made of SGL steel plate, which is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is thoroughly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates the steel plate and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter experience.
Moreover, it has soundproofing properties, which reduce the sound of rain.
Being lighter than other roofing materials, it also reduces the sway during earthquakes, contributing to earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and our company’s construction achievements show that Aijii Industry’s Super Galtect is the most frequently used and is gaining significant attention!

What is the Roof Overlay (Cover Method)?

The roof overlay method involves leaving the current roof almost as it is and placing a new roof on top of it, effectively covering it.
Literally, it is a method of covering a roof with another roof. Therefore, the roof becomes double-layered. Since the roof is laid on top of another, it is also referred to as “overlapping roofing.”

Benefits of the Overlay Method

“Since we overlay “new roofs” on the “current roof,” demolition work is almost unnecessary, meaning that very little waste is generated.
This is the biggest feature, leading to various benefits.

The only parts that require demolition and waste disposal are the ridge cap, so compared to complete roof replacement, the cost is lower.
In 2004, regulations regarding the concentration of asbestos in raw materials were changed (for more details, please refer to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare website below).

Building materials used in structures constructed before 2004 may contain asbestos. Asbestos-containing materials are difficult to demolish due to their high environmental impact, and the costs for demolition and waste disposal are also high. The roof overlay method, which generates almost no waste, is ideal for such roofs.

You may be wondering, “Is it safe to live in a building that uses asbestos-containing materials?” but rest assured. As long as there is no destruction or crushing, it will not disperse into the air.
