Roof Overlay Construction Procedure
1. Demolition of Existing Ridge and Snow Stops
The lifespan of wooden purlins is approximately 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the lifespan can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the detachment or scattering of the ridge flashing.
2. Installation of Roofing (Waterproof Sheet) and Fitting of Accessories (Curlicue, Eaves, Valley)
Tadi Self Cover is the ideal roofing sheet for covering fragile slates such as non-asbestos roofing materials. As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, it generally won’t leak. We will ensure it is securely applied so that it doesn’t get blown away by the wind.
Since there are various durability years and characteristics for roofing sheets, it is important to choose a roofing sheet that matches the durability years of the new roof and the roof slope!
The metal at the ridge is our original integrated waste board ridge base. It has a durability of about 30 years and offers high wind resistance.
3．Main Construction (Aijii Industry / Super Galttect)
Once the roofing is completed up to the ridge, we will install the necessary materials to secure the ridge flashing, known as the “kanban.” We offer three types of kanban: cedar, resin, and galvalume steel, and this time we used galvalume steel!
Galvalume steel offers three times the durability compared to cedar! Unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, providing peace of mind!
Our original integrated waste board made of galvalume steel offers high durability, strong fixation, and excellent wind resistance!
Even if rainwater enters from the ridge, it is designed to drain rainwater to the outside, providing high waterproofing performance!
It is perfect for the ridge base of Super Galttect!
4．Ridge Flashing Processing & Sealing at Various Locations
We will process and install the
We will use stainless steel screws with waterproof packing that are resistant to rust for fixing!
Unlike nails, screws with packing are less likely to pull out
and securely fix the ridge cap to the base!
Although it is not visible after installation,
installing a face plate on the inside of the ridge cap
enhances waterproofing!
We will thoroughly protect the ridge, which is a critical point of the roof.
5. Cleaning
After the roof work is completed, we will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony or rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove nails and metal scraps, as they can lead to injuries.
Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.[/chat]
About Roofing Materials
The roofing material used is Ai-Gi Kogyo / Super Galtect. Super Galtect comes with a 15-year coating warranty and a 25-year perforation warranty from the manufacturer, along with a 10-year construction warranty from our company! Additionally, it is made of SGL steel, which is resistant to rust.
The insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal panel that integrates the steel plate and insulation. During installation, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Moreover, it also has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain. Being lighter than other roofing materials, it minimizes the sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.
