Y Residence in Aoba-ku, Yokohama | Performed roof overlay (cover method) using Super Galtect!

BEFORE

AFTER

Hello!
We are Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd., a specialist in roofing, exterior wall painting, and exterior renovations located in Aoba-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture!
This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama.

This time, we performed a roof overlay (cover method) construction using Super Galtect!

The existing roofing material is famous for being not suitable for painting, specifically “Nichiha/Pamir”.
The only effective renovation for Pamir is the roof overlay method.

Thank you very much for choosing Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd. from among many contractors.

Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Dismantling of Existing Roof Ridge Flashing and Snow Guards

We will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge cap, snow guards) for the roof overlay (cover method)! The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the durability period can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the ridge cap coming loose or being blown away.

2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)

The roofing used is Jouyu Pulp Industry/Sunlight G!
It is made of modified asphalt roofing, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is solid, there will be no leaks!
We will ensure it is securely attached to prevent it from blowing away.

3. Component Processing (Curly Patterns & Eaves)

Before the main roof construction, we will process components such as eaves and curly patterns!

The components used are genuine parts from Galtect, made of SGL copper plate!

4. Main Construction (Aijii Industry/Super Galtect)

After processing the components, we will install the Galtect main body up to the ridge!
Once the installation reaches the ridge, we will place the necessary materials to secure the ridge cap, known as purlins. There are types made of cedar and resin, and this time we used the resin type!
The resin type is expected to have twice the durability of the cedar type!

5. Ridge Cap Processing & Sealing at Various Locations

Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will thoroughly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. At the wall edge, we will process and install a component called a rain guard metal. The photo shows the ventilation ridge, which allows hot air and humidity from the attic to escape outside.
We use stainless steel nails and screws that are resistant to rust!

6. Cleaning

We will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove nails and metal fragments to prevent injuries. Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
We also provide a 10-year construction warranty!

It is made of SGL steel plate, which is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates steel and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter experience.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lighter compared to other roofing materials, which reduces the sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial is the most frequently used in our construction achievements and is highly regarded!
