Joint Replacement Work Procedure

1. Removal of Existing Sealing Material

We will remove the existing sealing material using a cutter or similar tool. This is referred to as sealing, caulking, or joints. It is a critical area that can easily lead to water leaks and cause cracking or lifting of the siding. Cracks and peeling are signs of deterioration!

2. Masking Tape Application (Protection)

Check the position for applying the tape and carefully attach it to avoid any overlap on the surface.

3. Application of Primer

Apply the primer with a brush or similar tool, ensuring there are no missed spots.

4. Filling with Sealing Material

Press the nozzle of the caulking gun against the joint base and fill it sufficiently. The caulking material used is SR Seal H100.

5. Trowel Finishing

Use a trowel that matches the joint width to press firmly and finish smoothly.

6. Removal of Masking Tape

Remove the masking tape after finishing.

Exterior Wall Painting Construction Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing (Bio Cleaning)

First, we thoroughly remove dirt and moss from the exterior walls using high-pressure washing! If dirt remains, it will affect the adhesion and durability of the paint, so we wash carefully. We also wash the exterior structures, concrete floors, and inside the rain gutters. The white foam is the bio cleaning agent!

2. Substrate Adjustment

Once the high-pressure washing is complete, we will assess the condition of the exterior walls and perform substrate adjustments such as crack repairs.

3. Protection of Various Areas

Next, we will protect areas that will not be painted, such as windows, sashes, and floors, using masking tape, blue sheets, and polymer masks. This is a very important task in the painting process!

Neglecting protection can lead to gaps that allow paint to seep in or result in uneven lines.

4. Primer Application

This is the first step of applying paint after high-pressure washing and substrate treatment. It is the primer that ensures that the middle and top coats adhere well to the surface. A thorough primer application greatly affects durability and finish!

The primer for the siding surface is SK Kaken’s water-based SD Surf Epoxy Premium. It also has substrate adjustment functions, effectively sealing fine cracks!

5. Middle Coat Application

Next is the middle coat application. This is a crucial step to bring out the performance of the paint, achieve a beautiful finish, and eliminate unevenness!

6. Top Coat Application

Next is the top coat. This will be the finishing touch for the exterior wall painting. We will be mindful to ensure there are no uneven spots or missed areas, achieving a beautiful finish!

We used SK Kaken’s Escape Premium Silicon for the paint. The manufacturer’s expected durability is said to be about 14 to 16 years.

7. Painting of Auxiliary Parts (Drip Edge, Rain Gutter, Eaves, Fascia, Soffit, Drain Pipe, Shutter Box)

Soffit

Shutter Box

After finishing the surface preparation such as sanding for the auxiliary parts, for iron components, we apply a rust preventive primer, followed by an intermediate coat and a topcoat using Yumelock. We ensure that every detail is thoroughly painted!

Foundation Painting and Floor Painting Work Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing

First, we thoroughly remove dirt and moss from the foundation area using high-pressure washing! If any dirt remains, it can affect the adhesion and durability of the paint, so we wash carefully. Any obstacles to the foundation painting, such as outdoor units, will be temporarily moved.

2. Surface Preparation

After the high-pressure washing is complete, we perform surface preparation using sandpaper and other tools while checking the deterioration of the foundation.

3. Primer Application

This is the first painting task after high-pressure washing and surface preparation, and it is essential for ensuring that the intermediate and topcoats adhere well to the surface. By applying the primer thoroughly, there will be a significant difference in durability and finish!

The primer used for the foundation painting is Mizutani Paint’s Boujintekku Epoxy Sealer II. It is a water-based epoxy type that excels in touch-dry and curing speed, making it an excellent primer material.
It has excellent adhesion to mortar and concrete, as well as to the topcoat.

4. Intermediate Coat

Next is the middle coat. This is an important process to bring out the performance of the paint, achieve a beautiful finish, and eliminate unevenness!

7. Top Coat

Next is the top coat. This is the finishing touch for the painting work. We will be mindful to ensure there are no uneven areas or missed spots, resulting in a beautiful finish! The paint used was SK Kaken’s Base Protect.

8. Floor Coating

The paint used for the floor coating is Mizutani Paint / Floor Piani! Floor Piani is a two-component urethane floor paint that excels in protecting concrete floors and weather resistance!
