1. Existing Ridge and Rain Gutter Demolition

We will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge flashing) for the overlay method!The lifespan of wooden purlins is approximately 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the lifespan can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the ridge flashing coming loose or being blown away.

2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)

The roofing used this time is modified asphalt. It offers double the durability of standard asphalt roofing!

3. Custom Fabrication (Curlicue, Eaves, Valley)

Before the main roofing work, we will process and install accessories such as eaves and decorative elements!
The accessories used are genuine Galtect accessories made of SGL copper plate!

4. Main Construction (Aijii Industry / Super Galtect)

After processing the accessories, we will install the Galtect main roofing up to the ridge!
Once the roofing is completed up to the ridge, we will install the necessary materials for fixing the ridge cap, known as “kanbari.” We offer three types of kanbari: cedar, resin, and galvalume steel, and this time we used cedar!
The durability of the galvalume steel kanbari is approximately 30 to 35 years, making it highly durable and unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack! Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will ensure that sealing is properly applied on the inside of the joints. For the wall edge, we will process and install a component called rain stop flashing.
The nails and screws used for fixing are made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust!

5. Processing of Ridge Cap and Wall Edge Rain Stop Flashing

We will process and install the ridge cap. For the wall edge, we will process and install the rain stop flashing. We will also ensure that sealing is properly applied.

7. Cleaning

We will remove footprints and any debris that may have fallen around the house or inside the rain gutters, and perform a thorough cleaning.

With that, the construction is complete!

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is thoroughly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates the steel plate and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter experience.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Being lighter than other roofing materials, it also minimizes the sway during earthquakes, contributing to earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry is the most frequently used in our construction achievements, gaining significant attention!

What is the Roof Overlay (Cover Method)?

The roof overlay method involves leaving the current roof almost as it is and placing a new roof on top of it.
Literally, it is a method of covering a roof with another roof. Therefore, the roof becomes double-layered. Since the roof is laid over, it is also referred to as “overlapping roofing.”

Benefits of the Overlay Method

Since a “new roof” is placed over the “current roof,” demolition work is almost unnecessary, meaning that very little waste is generated.
This is its biggest feature, leading to various benefits.

The only parts that require demolition and waste disposal are the ridge cap, so compared to complete roof replacement, the cost is lower.
In 2004, regulations regarding the concentration of asbestos in raw materials were changed (for details, please refer to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare website).
Some building materials used in constructions completed before 2004 contain asbestos. Asbestos-containing materials are difficult to dismantle due to their high environmental impact, and the costs for demolition and waste disposal are also high. The overlay method, which generates almost no waste, is ideal for such roofs.

Some may wonder, “Is it safe to live in a building that uses asbestos-containing materials?” but rest assured. As long as there is no destruction or crushing, it will not disperse into the air.
