Roof Overlay (Cover Method) Construction Procedure
1. Existing Ridge and Snow Stop Dismantling
The existing ridge base is made of cedar, which has a durability of about 10 to 15 years.
Once the durability period is exceeded, corrosion and discoloration can occur, leading to the detachment and scattering of the ridge cap.
2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)
Tadi Self Cover is the ideal roofing sheet for the cover method of fragile slate materials, such as non-asbestos roofing materials. It serves as a secondary waterproofing layer, and as long as the roofing is solid, it basically won’t leak!
We will securely attach this to prevent it from being blown away by the wind. Since there are various durability periods and characteristics for roofing sheets, it is important to choose a roofing sheet that matches the durability of the new roofing material and the roof slope!

The roofing material will be secured with stainless steel renovation screws!
At the ridge, we will install the necessary ridge substrate to secure the ridge cap. The wood we handle includes cedar, resin, and Galvalume steel, three types, and this time we used Galvalume steel.
Galvalume steel is expected to have three times the durability of cedar, and unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, providing peace of mind!
Our original integrated waste board Galvalume steel ridge substrate is highly durable, has strong fixing power, and excellent wind resistance! Even if rainwater enters from the ridge, it has a mechanism to discharge rainwater to the outside, demonstrating high waterproofing performance!
5. Processing of Ridge Cap and Sealing at Various Locations
The screws used for fixing are stainless steel screws with washers that are resistant to rust!
Pack screws are less likely to come loose compared to nails, securely fastening the ridge cap to the underlying board!
Although it is not visible after installation, adding a face plate inside the ridge cap enhances waterproofing! It effectively protects the critical area of the roof.
5. Cleaning
About Roofing Materials
The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial. The Super Galtect comes with a 15-year paint warranty and a 25-year hole warranty, along with a 10-year installation warranty from our company!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is highly resistant to rust. The insulation material is tightly adhered from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates both the steel plate and insulation.
During installation, insulation is applied even to the areas where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a highly heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter experience. Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lighter compared to other roofing materials, which reduces the sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance. It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and our company has the most installations of Aijii Industrial’s Super Galtect, making it highly regarded!
