Ridge Cap Replacement Procedure
1. Existing Ridge Demolition
We will remove the old ridge cap and the internal wooden batten. Care is taken not to break the roofing materials during this process.
It is recommended to replace the internal wooden batten every 10 to 15 years.
Once the ridge cap is removed, you will find the batten inside.
2. Installation of New Batten
We will install a new batten. This time, we used a cedar batten, but there are also resin battens that are resistant to corrosion (such as Tough Mock and Eco Lumber).
3. Sealing Ridge Cap Joints
We apply sealing to the inside of the overlaps to enhance strength and waterproofing.
4. New Ridge Cap Installation
We will process and install the ends and joints.
5. Clean Up and Completion!
