Steps for Lath Ceiling Replacement
1. Demolition of Existing Ceiling Material
We will carefully carry out the demolition of the existing ceiling material while ensuring proper protection!
We will remove it carefully to avoid damaging the walls and will clean up any small debris that comes out during the removal process.
2. Substrate Reinforcement
Next, we will reinforce the base with hanging wood and other materials.
3. Insulation Installation
Next, we will lay down the insulation material.
The insulation material used this time is 【Asahi Fiberglass Mat Ace】.
This insulation material is made of inorganic fiber glass wool, which has characteristics such as strong resilience, being a non-combustible material that is difficult to burn, resistance to damage from termites, and sound-absorbing properties.
4. Ceiling Board Installation
The ceiling boards are installed, completing the work!
There are several types of ceiling renovations for Japanese-style rooms, but
this customer chose to renovate using the open-joint ceiling method.
(The open-joint ceiling is a type of raised ceiling.)
The open-joint ceiling involves leaving gaps between the boards and installing them in a way that allows for visibility through the gaps.
By leaving spaces when attaching the ceiling boards, it prevents the boards from pushing against each other and cracking due to expansion from humidity.
One of its features is that it creates a flat appearance without making the thickness noticeable!
The ceiling boards used this time are from Nankai Plywood, specifically 【Open-Joint Ceiling Taisha】!
