Roof Repair (Roof Overlay Method) Construction Procedure
1. Dismantling Existing Ridge and Snow Stops

2. Installing Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)
This underlayment boasts the highest quality, unmatched in waterproofing and durability. By sandwiching a modified asphalt layer between non-woven fabric and base paper, it fully demonstrates the inherent performance of modified asphalt.
The expected durability is approximately 30 years!
With the role of primary waterproofing, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks! We will ensure it is securely adhered to prevent it from blowing away.
When selecting the durability of the roofing sheet, choose one that is as close as possible to the durability of the new roofing material! New Liner Roofing has a relatively similar durability to Super Galtect, so when using Super Galtect for roofing work, we recommend New Liner Roofing!
3.Accessory Processing (Karakusa, Keraba, Valley)
The accessories used are the genuine accessories of Galtect made from SGL copper plate! During the roof overlay method, the roof will be higher than the existing one, which can cause rainwater to overflow the rain gutter. When using the overlay method, it is necessary to either adjust the rain gutter or use a set-back type of karakusa to prevent the rainwater from overflowing.
4. Main Construction (Aiji Industry/Super Galtect)
The screws for renovation from Aijii Industry, the manufacturer of Super Galtect, are specially designed for the roof overlay method, providing high fixation strength and improved wind resistance.
Recommended for buildings in areas with strong winds or locations exposed to wind!
5. Installation of Ridge Substrate (Nakanita)
Galvalume steel is expected to have a3 times longer durability than cedar! Unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, providing peace of mind!
We recommend choosing a ridge substrate with a durability similar to that of the new roofing materials, just like the roofing sheet.
For the lower ridge (corner ridge), we use our original integrated waste board Galvalume steel ridge substrate. This integrated waste board ridge substrate is designed to drain rainwater to the outside even if rainwater enters from the ridge, providing high waterproofing performance! It is perfect for the Super Galtect ridge substrate!
6. Processing of Ridge Flashing and Sealing at Various Locations
Unlike nails, screws with packing are less likely to come loose and securely fix the ridge flashing to the nakanita!
Although it is not visible after construction, installing a face plate on the inside of the ridge cap enhances waterproofing!
It firmly protects the ridge, which is a critical point of the roof. For stepped roofs like Super Galtect, we recommend installing a face plate as the ridge is a vulnerable area!

1. Removal of Existing Sealing Material
This is referred to as sealing, caulking, or jointing. It is a critical area as it can easily lead to leaks and cause cracking or lifting of the siding. Cracks and peeling are signs of deterioration!

The roofing material used is Aijii Industrial’s Super Galtect.
Super Galtect comes with a 15-year paint warranty and a 25-year hole warranty from the manufacturer.
We also provide a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates steel plate and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter.

What is the Roof Overlay (Cover Method)?
The roof overlay method involves leaving the current roof almost as it is and placing a new roof on top of it, effectively covering it.
Literally, it is a method of covering a roof with another roof. Therefore, the roof becomes double-layered. Since the roof is laid on top of another, it is also referred to as “overlapping roofing.”
Benefits of the Overlay Method
Since we overlay a “new roof” on the “existing roof,” demolition work is almost unnecessary, meaning that very little waste is generated.
This is our biggest feature and leads to various benefits.
The only part that requires demolition and waste disposal is the ridge cap, so compared to a complete roof replacement, the cost is lower.
In 2004, regulations regarding the concentration of asbestos in raw materials were changed (for more details, please refer to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare website).
