If the batten inside the ridge cap flashing rots, it can detach and scatter in strong winds, which is very dangerous.
Also, the top part of the roof, known as the ridge, is not covered by roofing materials, making it prone to leaks.
It is considered a critical point of the roof.
However, the rotting of the wooden parts inside the ridge cap flashing is difficult to notice because it is internal.
Therefore, we recommend replacement every 10 years.
Ridge cap flashing is very easy to detach, and if left unnoticed, it can accelerate the progression of rot.
Therefore, we recommend annual maintenance.
