Child Future Housing Support Project: What is it?
This newly established project aims to reduce the burden on child-rearing households and young couples acquiring housing from two perspectives: child-rearing support and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. It also seeks to increase the stock of energy-efficient homes.
Renovations that meet certain criteria are also eligible, with a budget of 54.2 billion yen, which will conclude once the budget is exhausted.
Subsidy applications must be made through registered housing contractors
Subsidy applications must be made by housing contractors who have registered in advance as project operators. They will act as subsidy providers upon receiving commissions from purchasers of new homes and clients ordering renovation work, and will apply for and receive the subsidies. However, the granted subsidies must be returned to the home purchasers, and the method of return must be agreed upon by both parties in advance during the application process.

Yamato City
In Yamato City, there is a system called Yamato City Non-combustible and Barrier-free Renovation Cost Subsidy, which has certain conditions, but there are subsidies available for exterior wall work.

- For parent households living in single-family homes within the city, half of the necessary renovation costs for cohabitation with children’s families moving in from outside the city will be subsidized, up to a maximum of 300,000 yen.

2. Eligible recipients for the subsidy (those who meet all of the following criteria)
- The applicant must be a parent household that owns and resides in a single-family home within the city, or a child family planning to move from outside the city to that home

- The child family moving in must have an address outside Yokosuka City as of January 1, 2022, and must move into the home where the parent household resides after the application date
- The applicant must not have received subsidies under this program in the past
- The applicant must not be in arrears on city taxes
- The applicant must not be a member of a violent organization

・Construction carried out by a contractor with a main office or headquarters in the city
・Not the same location as other subsidy programs implemented by the city or soundproofing work conducted by the Southern Kanto Defense Bureau
・Planned construction (work already started is not eligible)
・All construction documents must be submitted within the fiscal year
・Construction costs must be 100,000 yen or more (excluding tax)
