What is plaster!? We will explain the deterioration and repair methods of roof tile plaster along with our construction results!

Case Study of Ridge Tile Reinstallation

1. Demolition of Existing Ridge Tiles

2. Removal of Roof Soil

The red circle indicates the reinforcement ridge hardware. Since the reinforcement ridge hardware is free from rust, we will keep it while removing the existing plaster and core wood.

3. Installation of Ridge Core Material (Taruki)

After installing the ridge core material (core wood) onto the reinforcement ridge hardware, we will connect them! The ridge core material comes in types such as cedar and resin, and this time we used resin rafters!

4. Protection

Before filling in the plaster, we will take measures to protect the tiles from getting dirty with plaster.

5. Filling with Nanban Plaster

After protection, we will apply the Nanban plaster! We used Silguard for the Nanban plaster.

6. Completion

Reinstall the ridge tiles in order, then secure the ridge tiles and the ridge core material with screws, and finally fix the ridge tiles with tile silicone. This completes the re-stacking work! [/chat]

7. Cleaning

 

We will collect and clean up any pieces of plaster and debris that have fallen onto the balcony or ground. We will conduct a thorough cleaning.

Materials Used

The history of plaster dates back about 5000 years and has been used worldwide. It has been utilized for filling joints, adhering tiles and stones, and for wall finishing!

Silguard is one type of Nanban plaster. Nanban plaster contains materials like silicone that enhance waterproofing and strength. Therefore, it excels in durability and waterproofing!

Silguard comes in white and black colors. There is no difference in performance, but white tends to be more expensive. White is often used in visible areas, while black is commonly used in places covered by roofing materials.

 

To extend the lifespan of the tiles, maintenance of the plaster is necessary.

If the plaster deteriorates, it can lead to leaks throughout the house, so if it has been over 20 years, we recommend maintenance!
