Inquiry Details
We received the following inquiry from a customer living in Yokosuka City!
“I am concerned about the deterioration of the sealing material, so I would like an estimate. Please also provide an estimate for a clear coating that matches the existing pattern on the exterior walls.”

Joint Replacement Construction Procedure

1. Removal of Existing Sealing Material

We will remove the existing sealing material using a cutter or similar tool. This is referred to as sealing, caulking, or joints. It is a critical area that can easily lead to water leaks and cause cracking or lifting of the siding. Cracks and peeling are signs of deterioration! If the bond breaker that prevents three-sided adhesion is peeling, we will apply a new bond breaker.

2. Preparation

We will perform preparation using masking tape and other materials. This is done to prevent dirt on the exterior walls and to define the finish line.

We will carefully apply the tape, ensuring it does not dig into the surface being adhered to.

3. Application of Primer

To enhance the adhesion between the sealing material and the substrate, we will apply primer to the work surface using a brush or similar tool.

4. Filling with Sealing Material

Next, we will inject the sealing material. Place the nozzle of the caulking gun against the bottom of the joint and fill it sufficiently.

The sealing material used this time is Auton Exceed from Auto Chemical Industry. This polyurethane-based sealing material has high adhesion and excellent durability.

The durability is approximately 30 years, making it highly durable with a focus on longevity!

5. Finishing with a Trowel

Using a trowel that matches the width of the joint, we will press firmly and finish smoothly.

6. Removal of Masking Tape

After removing the masking tape, the joint replacement work will be completed.

Aoba-ku, Yokohama Exterior Wall Painting | Construction Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing

First, we will remove dirt and moss from the exterior walls using high-pressure washing! If dirt remains, it can affect the adhesion and durability of the paint, so we will wash thoroughly.

2. Substrate Adjustment

Once the high-pressure washing is complete, we will perform substrate adjustments such as crack repairs while checking the condition of the exterior walls!

3. Protection of Areas

Next, we will protect areas that will not be painted, such as windows, sashes, and floors, using masking tape and other materials. This is a very important task in the painting process! If protection is neglected, gaps may form, allowing paint to seep in or resulting in uneven lines.

4. First Coat Painting

This is a very important process to bring out the performance of the paint, to achieve a beautiful finish, and to eliminate uneven application!

This time, we will be using a clear coating, so unlike regular exterior wall painting, we will only apply the finishing paint twice without a primer step.

5. Second Coating

Next is the top coat. This will be the finishing touch for the exterior wall painting. We will be mindful to ensure there are no uneven spots or missed areas, achieving a beautiful finish! The paint used this time is Kikusuikagaku’s Royal Seraclear. This paint is a clear coating that is compatible with photocatalytic siding (difficult-to-attach siding).

6. Accessory Painting (Eaves, Rain Gutter, Fascia, Shutter Box, Slim Duct)

The accessories will be completed after surface preparation such as scraping, followed by priming and top coating!

Eaves

Eaves are less exposed to sunlight and are less prone to deterioration, but due to poor sunlight, they tend to develop moss and mold more easily. Therefore, we use Nippon Paint’s Ken Ace, which has high mold resistance and moisture permeability.

Rain Gutter

Fascia

Shutter Box

Slim Duct

For the attached parts, after finishing the surface preparation such as scraping, for iron parts, we apply a rust preventive primer, using Rock Paint’s Yumelock and proceed with two coats. We ensure to paint thoroughly, even in the finer areas!
