Concrete Work Procedure for Ground Floor

1. Removal of Weeds and Other Debris

We will remove the existing weed control sheet and weeds! We will remove excess soil and compact the ground to solidify it. At this time, we need to ensure it is level, so we will use a string to check and adjust the level.

2. Crushed Stone Installation

Next, we will lay down crushed stone and compact it from above. This process is essential to prevent settling after the concrete is poured. We will also compact it to eliminate surface distortions and make it flat. This step is crucial for enhancing the strength of the concrete that will be poured on the ground.

3. Formwork Installation

Next is the installation of the formwork. The shape of the concrete will be determined by this formwork. We will assemble the formwork while ensuring that the concrete does not flow out. Since the area for pouring concrete is relatively large this time, we will add slits and divide it into four sections to increase strength and reduce cracking.

4. Wire Mesh Installation

Next, we will lay down wire mesh. By doing this, the strength of the concrete will increase. Whether it’s for the exterior blocks or the foundation of the building, there is a significant difference in strength between having rebar and not having it. The same applies to the ground, and by incorporating wire mesh, the strength will greatly increase!

5. Pouring the Concrete

Once the wire mesh is installed, we pour in the concrete and compact it. This time, due to the building’s location on a hill with the garden on the opposite side from the road, we couldn’t use a mixer truck and had to carry all the concrete by hand! We smooth it out while pouring in the new concrete.

6. Finishing Work

Finally, we smooth the surface before the concrete hardens. By adjusting the smoothing technique, we can create patterns on the concrete. It can be smoothed out to a glossy finish or intentionally left rough to reduce slipping. Once the surface is neatly finished and hardened, the ground concrete work is complete!

We dismantle the soil and edges of the flower bed, and then smooth the concrete using the same procedure as above. Once it dries, the work is complete!

Balcony Top Coat

The balcony will be completed after high-pressure washing, primer, intermediate coat, and top coat!
