Interior & Flooring Replacement Construction Steps
1. Removal of Existing Tatami and Flooring Materials
First, we will remove the existing tatami and flooring materials! We will carefully remove them to avoid damaging the walls. We will also clean up any small debris that comes out during the removal process.
2. Installing the Joists
Next, we will install the joists (framework). The ends will be slightly away from the walls to prevent creaking sounds.
With the joists in place, the load on the floor (flooring) is distributed, enhancing safety.
3. Installing the Sheathing
Next, we will lay down the underlayment material called “nobitaiban.” This completes the underlayment for the flooring.
By removing the tatami mats, the height is lowered by the thickness of the tatami. It is important to adjust this height, so we proceeded with the underlayment using spacers.
4. Flooring Installation
Next, we will lay the flooring on top of the underlayment. We will make fine size adjustments and align the height during the installation, completing the flooring.
The flooring material used this time is Daiken’s 【Hapia Oto Yuka 45II Ash Pattern】!
