This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Aoba-ku, Yokohama.
There are several types of exterior renovations, and this project involved a roof overlay (cover method) using Super Galtect!
We implemented measures against leaks through the roofing work!

Roof Overlay (Cover Method) Construction Procedure
1. High-Pressure Washing
We thoroughly remove dirt and moss from the roof with high-pressure washing! Although we typically do not perform high-pressure washing, we decided to clean it since the dirt was quite noticeable!
2. Dismantling Existing Roof Ridge Flashing and Snow Guards
We will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge flashing and snow guards) for the roof overlay method! The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the durability period can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the ridge flashing coming loose or being blown away.[/chat]
3. Installing Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)
It is made of a delayed adhesive modified asphalt roofing material, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks!
We will ensure it is securely attached to prevent it from blowing away.
4. Fabrication of Accessories (Curlicue, Eaves, Valley)
Before the main roofing work, we will process and install accessories such as eaves, valleys, and decorative metalwork!
The accessories used are genuine Galtect accessories made from SGL copper plate![/chat]
5. Main Construction (Aiji Industry / Super Galtect)
After processing the accessories, we will install the Galtect main roofing up to the ridge!
Once the roofing is completed up to the ridge, we will install necessary materials called “nuki” to secure the ridge cap. There are two types of nuki: cedar and resin, and this time we used the resin type!
The resin type is expected to have twice the durability compared to the cedar type![/chat]
6. Ridge Cap Processing and Sealing
Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will thoroughly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. For the wall edges, we will process and install a component called rain guard metal.
The nails and screws used for fixing are made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust![/chat]
7. Cleaning
We will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove items like nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.[/chat]
About Roofing Materials
The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
The insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates the steel plate and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-insulating paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lighter compared to other roofing materials, which reduces the swaying during earthquakes, making it a good earthquake countermeasure.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry is the most commonly used in our construction achievements, gaining significant attention!
