This is a record of our work on the repair project in Nakano, Tokyo!
While conducting exterior painting and roof renovations in Nakano, we greeted the neighbors and received a request for repair work from one of them!

In tiled roofs, plaster is used to seal the gaps between tiles to prevent rainwater and wind from entering, as well as to keep the tiles themselves in place.
This plaster is also exposed to wind, rain, extreme temperatures, and direct sunlight, so like other roofing materials, it deteriorates over time. If you can see cracks or peeling, it is dangerous. The force holding it in place weakens, which may cause the tiles to shift with a slight wind or earthquake.
In the worst case, they may fall off. Additionally, if the shifted tiles interfere with each other, they may chip or crack, which can lead to rainwater intrusion and cause leaks.
This time, we will remove the existing plaster under the ridge and replace it with new plaster.
Repair Work Procedure
1. Remove the existing plaster
If new plaster is applied over the existing plaster, it will peel off quickly. Therefore, we will thoroughly remove it and clean the area.
2. Prepare and moisten the base soil
We will prepare the base soil to ensure the plaster can be applied evenly. Once the base is ready, we will spray the soil with water to ensure the plaster adheres properly.
3. Apply new plaster
We will apply the appropriate amount of plaster so that it does not protrude beyond its original area (not exceeding the roof surface).
If too much is applied and it protrudes from the roof, it can cause rainwater to hit it, leading to the plaster crumbling.
The plaster used this time is Nanban plaster, Silguard!
Once it hardens, it becomes quite durable!
4. Cleaning
That completes the work!
This time, the leak prevention measure was a repair work on the faceplate!
The customer was able to confirm the before-and-after photos and was very satisfied!
