We are Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd., a specialist in roofing, exterior painting, and exterior renovations located in Aoba-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture!
This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Sanmu City, Tokyo.
For this roofing renovation, we performed a roof overlay from Monier tiles to Super Galtect!
A roof overlay involves dismantling and removing the existing roofing materials to implement measures against roof leaks with a new roof.

Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Dismantling Existing Roofing Materials

We will dismantle the existing roofing materials (tiles)! We will remove the tiles, soil, and tile battens!

2. Installing New Sheathing Boards

After dismantling the existing roofing materials, we will process and install new sheathing boards to fit the dimensions!

3. Installing Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)

We will lay the roofing sheet (waterproof sheet) on the underlayment!The roofing used is Tajima Roofing/Tadis Self!
It is made of a delayed adhesive modified asphalt roofing material, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is solid, there will be no leaks!
We will firmly adhere it to prevent it from blowing away.

4. Fabrication of Accessories (Karakusa and Keraba)

Before the main roofing work, we will fabricate and install accessories such as keraba and karakusa!
The materials used for the accessories are SGL steel plates. The black rod-like object installed at the ridge is a resin-made purlin! We will install a waste board metal sheet on the resin-made purlin. The resin is expected to have twice the durability compared to cedar!

5. Main Construction (Aijii Industry/Super Galtect)

After the accessory fabrication, we will install the Galtect main roofing up to the ridge!

6. Ridge Metal Fabrication and Sealing at Various Locations

We will fabricate and install the ridge metal. We will apply sealing thoroughly on the inside of the joints.
At the wall edge, we will fabricate and install a component called rain stop metal.
The nails and screws used for fixing will be made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust!

7. Cleaning

We will clean up the debris that has fallen on the balcony and rain gutters. Since items like nails and metal scraps can lead to injuries, we will conduct a thorough cleaning. We will also wipe away any footprints left on the roof to ensure it looks pristine. [/chat]

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
We also provide a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates steel and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Being lighter than other roofing materials, it also reduces the sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial is the most commonly used in our construction projects and is receiving significant attention!
