Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Demolition of Existing Ridge and Snow Stops

We will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge cap) for the cover method!The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the durability period can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the ridge cap coming off or being blown away.

2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)

Next, we will install the roofing sheet (waterproof sheet)!

The roofing used is Tajima Roofing/Tadis Self Cover!
This is a self-adhesive roofing sheet specifically for the cover method, suitable for fragile slates like Colonial NEO! Its durability is about 30 years, which is three times that of regular asphalt roofing, making it a highly durable roofing sheet.
With the role of secondary waterproofing, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks!
We will ensure it is securely adhered to prevent it from blowing away.

3. Component Processing (Curly Patterns & Eaves)

Before the main roof construction, we will process and install components such as eaves and curly patterns!
The components used are genuine parts from Galttect, made of SGL copper plate!

4. Main Construction (Aiji Industrial/Super Galttect)

After processing the fittings, we will install the Galttect main body up to the ridge!
Once we have finished laying it up to the ridge, we will install the necessary materials to secure the ridge board called “kanban.” We offer three types of kanban: cedar, resin, and galvalume steel, and this time we used the galvalume steel version!
The galvalume steel version is expected to have 3times the durability compared to the cedar version! Unlike the resin and cedar versions, it does not crack, so it is reassuring!

5. Processing of Ridge Metal and Sealing at Various Locations

Next, we will process and install the ridge metal. We will firmly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. At the wall edge, we will process and install a component called a rain guard metal.
The nails and screws used for fixing are made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust!

Unlike regular nails, screws with packing are less likely to come loose and securely fix the ridge metal to the kanban!

Although it is not visible after construction, by attaching a face plate to the inside of the ridge metal, waterproofing is enhanced! This firmly protects the ridge, which is a critical point of the roof.

6. Cleaning

We will clean up the debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly clean up nails and metal scraps, as they can lead to injuries. We will also wipe away any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.

7. Completion of Roofing Work

With this, the work is complete.

Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years against perforation.

Insulation material is thoroughly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates the steel plate and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lightweight compared to other roofing materials, which reduces the sway during earthquakes, making it a good earthquake countermeasure.
