Joint Replacement Work Procedure
1. Removal of Existing Sealing Material
We will remove the existing sealing material using a cutter or similar tool.
It is referred to as sealing, caulking, or joints. It is a critical area that can easily lead to water leaks and can cause cracking or lifting of the siding. Cracks and peeling are signs of deterioration!
2.Applying masking tape
Check the position to apply the tape and carefully stick it on without digging into the surface.
3.Applying primer
Apply the primer with a brush or similar tool, ensuring there are no missed spots.
4.Filling with sealing material
Place the nozzle of the caulking gun at the bottom of the joint and fill it sufficiently.
5.Finishing with a trowel
Press firmly with a trowel that matches the width of the joint and finish it smoothly.
6.Removing masking tape
Remove the masking tape promptly after finishing.
Exterior painting construction procedure
1.High-pressure washing
Thoroughly remove moss and dirt from the exterior walls with high-pressure washing.
2.Protection of various parts
We will protect areas that will not be painted, such as windows, sashes, and floors, using masking tape, blue sheets, and polymer masks.
This is a very important task in the painting process! If we neglect the protection, gaps may form, allowing paint to seep in, or we may not achieve clean lines.
3. Primer
This time, we used water-based SD surf from SK Kaken.
By applying the primer thoroughly, we can significantly improve durability and finish.
4. Intermediate Coat
We used premium silicone from SK Kaken for the paint.
The manufacturer’s expected durability is said to be about 14 to 16 years.
Durability may vary depending on the region and sunlight exposure.
5. Top Coat
This is the finishing of the exterior wall painting.
6. Painting of Auxiliary Parts (Rain Gutter and Eaves)
We will also paint the finer details.
Rain Gutter (Nippon Paint/Fine Urethane)
Eaves (Nippon Paint/Ken Ace)
7. Cleaning
We make sure to clean around the house and the balcony during the scaffold dismantling, leaving everything cleaner than before the work started!
