This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture.
There are several types of exterior renovations, and the work we are showcasing this time is a roof replacement project (Stanby 455)!

Roof Replacement Project Photos

1. Existing Roof Material Demolition

We will dismantle and remove the existing roof materials. The existing purlins were made of wood. The lifespan of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Exceeding the lifespan can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the separation and scattering of ridge metal. It is evident that the existing waterproof sheet has also significantly deteriorated due to the progression of degradation.

2. New Sheathing Installation

After dismantling the existing roofing material, we will process and install new sheathing (structural plywood) to fit the dimensions![/chat]

3. Installing Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)

The roofing used is Tajima Roofing/Tadis Self!
It is a delayed adhesive modified asphalt roofing material, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks!
We will ensure it is securely adhered to prevent it from blowing away.[/chat]

4. Fabrication of Accessories (Curly Patterns and Eaves)

Before the main roofing work, we will fabricate and install accessories such as curly patterns and eaves!
The materials used for the accessories will be galvalume steel sheet.[/chat]

5. Main Construction (Inagaki Shouji/Stanby 455)

6. Ridge Cap and Sealing at Various Locations

We will process and install the ventilation tower and ridge cap

7. Cleaning

We will clean up the debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove items like nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.

Roofing Materials Used

The roofing material used is Inagaki Shouji’s Stanby 455.
Stanby 455 comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
For re-roofing and roof overlay, we also provide a 10-year construction warranty!
If there are any leaks within 10 years, we will make repairs free of charge.
It is made of Galvalume steel, which is resistant to rust.
We pursue the basic functions of the roof, such as water drainage and strength, by applying ripples and ribs to the surface of the roofing material, enhancing the strength of the roof surface and preventing the phenomenon of board noise.

For roofs with a slope of 2.5 shaku or less, please be sure to choose a vertical roof like Stanby! Horizontal roofs like Colonial or Galttect are not allowed for construction!

Additionally, since it is a molded integrated standing seam roof that does not require hooks or fasteners, it is constructed from a single long sheet of metal from the peak of the roof to the eaves, which means there are no horizontal seams in between, minimizing the risk of leaks by preventing rainwater flow obstruction and opportunities for water to enter beneath the roofing material. It is recommended for homes with a gentle roof slope.
Moreover, it is the lightest among metal roofs, and by reducing the weight of the roof, it is possible to make your home more earthquake-resistant through re-roofing.
You can also choose from colors such as Jet Black, Dark Brown, Sepia, Moss Green, Silver Black, Natural Gray, Midnight Blue, Bamboo Green, and Gray Silver.
