This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
The work involved this time is the roof overlay (cover method) using Super Galtect and the removal of solar panels!
The existing roofing material is Colonial NEO, which is not suitable for painting.
Since it is not suitable for painting, we proposed the overlay method this time!

Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Temporary Removal of Solar Panels

We will temporarily dismantle the solar panels and the base rack. Since we will be replacing it with a rack specifically for Galtect, all existing base racks and fittings will be disposed of. The slate roof rack is fixed by making holes in the roof, so after removing the rack, we will repair the holes with caulking. The removed solar panels will be carefully stored in our warehouse.

2. Laying Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)

The roofing material used is Jouyu Pulp Industry/Sunlight G!
It is made of modified asphalt roofing, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
If the roofing is solid, it will not leak as it serves as the primary waterproofing! We will ensure it is securely attached to prevent it from blowing away.

3.Accessory Processing (Karakusa and Keraba)

Before the main roofing work, we will process and install accessories such as keraba and karakusa!

The accessories used are the genuine accessories of Galttect, made of SGL copper plate!

4. Main Construction (Aiji Industrial/Super Galttect)

After processing the accessories, we will install the Galttect main roofing up to the ridge!
Once it is installed up to the ridge, we will place the necessary materials to secure the ridge cap, known as the kanban. There are types of kanban made of cedar and resin, and this time we used the resin type!
The resin type is expected to have twice the durability compared to the cedar type!

5. Ridge Cap Processing and Sealing at Various Locations

Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will thoroughly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. We use stainless steel nails and screws that are resistant to rust!

6. Installation of New Base Rack Hardware

The existing base was fixed by making holes in the roof, but the new hardware will catch the Galtect main body to secure the solar panels. This reduces the risk of leaks and the burden on the roof.
There are applicable brackets for each manufacturer and model of solar panels. There may be no applicable brackets for older solar panels.

7. Installation of Solar Panels

We will return the removed solar panels to their original position to complete the installation! Finally, we will check to ensure they are generating power properly.

8. Cleaning

We will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. Additionally, we will wipe away any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.

About Roofing Materials

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
Our company also provides a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates steel and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a highly heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lightweight compared to other roofing materials, which minimizes the sway during an earthquake, serving as an earthquake countermeasure.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and the Super Galtect from Aijii Industrial is the most frequently used in our construction achievements, gaining significant attention!
