Roof Overlay Construction Procedure
1. Demolition of Existing Ridge
The lifespan of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Once this lifespan is exceeded, corrosion and discoloration occur, leading to the detachment and scattering of the ridge flashing.
2. Laying Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)
Tadi Self Cover is the ideal roofing sheet for covering fragile slates such as non-asbestos roofing materials. As a secondary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, it generally does not leak. We will ensure it is securely attached to prevent it from being blown away by the wind.
Since there are various lifespans and characteristics of roofing sheets, it is important to choose roofing sheets that match the lifespan of the new roof and the roof slope!
3. Fabrication of Accessories (Curlicue & Eaves)
The ridge metal is our original integrated waste board type ridge substrate. Durability of approximately 30 years is expected, making it a highly wind-resistant ridge substrate.
4.Main Construction (Aijii Industry / Super Galtect)
Once the installation reaches the ridge, we will set up the necessary materials to fix the ridge metal called a “kanban.” We offer three types of kanban: cedar, resin, and galvalume steel, and this time we used galvalume steel!
Galvalume steel can be expected to have three times the durability of cedar! Unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, providing peace of mind!
Even if rainwater enters from the ridge, it has a mechanism to discharge rainwater to the outside, demonstrating high waterproof performance!
It is ideal for the Super Galtect ridge substrate!
5. Ridge Metal Processing and Sealing at Various Locations
The screws used for fixing are rust-resistant stainless steel with waterproof packing!
Screws with packing are less likely to come loose compared to nails,
firmly securing the ridge metal to the kanban!
Although it is not visible after construction,
by installing a face plate inside the ridge cap,
the waterproofing is enhanced!
We will firmly protect the ridge, which is a critical part of the roof.
6. Roof Adhesive Cover Construction (Only for Solar Panel Installation Area)
Recolonies are installed by adhering to the existing roofing material. The surface coating has a durability of about 10 to 15 years, is resistant to rain and wind, and provides a sharp finish unique to metal. Additionally, it is characterized by lower costs compared to overlaying or replacing the roof.
7. Cleaning
We will also wipe away any footprints left on the roof to make it clean.
About Roofing Materials
The roofing material used is Ai-Gi Kogyo / Super Galtect. Super Galtect comes with a 15-year paint warranty and a 25-year hole warranty from the manufacturer, along with a 10-year construction warranty from our company! Additionally, it is made of SGL steel, which is resistant to rust.
The insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates the steel plate and insulation. During installation, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a highly heat-resistant paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter.
Moreover, it also has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain. Being lighter than other roofing materials, it minimizes the sway during earthquakes, contributing to earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and Super Galtect from Ai-Gi Kogyo is the most frequently used in our construction achievements and is gaining significant attention!
