How to Choose a Leak Repair Contractor
There are many contractors in Yokohama that repair leaks, and you may be unsure which one to choose.
Therefore, when requesting roof repairs and leak repairs, let’s check the following four points.
● Have extensive experience in roof repairs and leak repairs
● Confirm the presence of warranties and aftercare services
● Obtain estimates from multiple contractors (at least three)
● Check if they conduct leak investigations and roof repairs in-house
By confirming the above four points, you will be able to choose a reliable contractor.
Extensive Experience in Roof Repairs and Leak Repairs
Roof repair contractors often have websites that showcase their construction achievements.
The construction results may explain the following items, so let’s check if similar repairs have been done for your home.
Repair details, the process leading to the repair, materials used, repair costs, repair duration, etc.
Additionally, having detailed explanations of the repair contents with photos can provide peace of mind as it can serve as a reference when you actually request repairs.
If you are concerned about whether the contractor you are about to hire will respond properly, choose a contractor with extensive repair experience.
Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd. specializes in roof and exterior repairs, and we receive many requests for leak repairs.
Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd.’s roof repair case studies in Miyamae-ku, Kawasaki
We received an inquiry from a customer living in Miyamae-ku, Kawasaki, stating,
“I am concerned about the deterioration of my roof and would like it inspected!”
Our Proposal
Since the existing roofing material contains asbestos, if a complete replacement were to be done, it would incur costs during the demolition. Therefore, based on the customer’s preference, we proposed the roof overlay (cover method).
Additionally, the customer expressed a desire for a roof that lasts as long as possible, so we recommended Super Galtect, which has a long durability.
Check for Warranty and After-Service
When choosing a leak repair contractor, let’s confirm the warranty availability.
Leak repairs can recur even after being fixed once, so if you have to request repairs every time a leak reoccurs, it can lead to significant expenses.
For this reason, if the contractor offers a warranty period, repairs may be done for free within that warranty period.
The warranty period varies by contractor and type of work, but it is generally set between 1 to 10 years.
Emergency repairs or partial fixes often do not come with a leak warranty.
Additionally, some contractors offer after-service separate from the warranty, so be sure to check if the contractor you are considering has warranties andafter-service.
Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd. provides a leak warranty for roof overlay (cover method) and roof replacement work.
Similarly, for exterior walls, a leak warranty is included for exterior wall cover work, replacement work, and joint sealing work.
As part of our aftercare, we send out annual DM,
allowing for yearly inspections.
Obtain estimates from multiple contractors (at least 3 companies)
When requesting roof renovations or leak repairs, be sure to obtain estimates from multiple contractors.
Even for the same repair work, the costs may vary between contractors, as well as the warranties and after-sales services offered.
Additionally, obtaining multiple estimates makes it easier to negotiate prices.
To request your desired repair contractor at a lower price, obtaining estimates from multiple contractors is essential.
If a leak occurs, it’s natural to feel anxious, but
first, perform temporary measures, and when considering construction, taking your time to think it through can lead to a satisfactory outcome!
Kakeru Koumuten is happy to assist with emergency leak repairs as well!
Check if the company conducts leak investigations and roof repairs in-house
Leaks can sometimes be easily identified, while in other cases, pinpointing the source can be challenging, requiring knowledge and experience.
Contractors that completely outsource roof repairs and leak repairs may lack the necessary knowledge and experience, leading to repairs in the wrong areas or suggesting ineffective leak repairs.
Moreover, investigating and then outsourcing to subcontractors can incur additional time and costs.
By having the knowledge and experience to perform the work in-house, we can provide prompt and cost-effective responsible leak repairs.
Kakeru Koumuten conducts leak investigations and construction in-house!
