Roof Overlay Construction Procedure
1. Demolition of existing ridge and snow guards
We will dismantle only the ridge flashing and snow guards that may obstruct the roof overlay work.
2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)
The roofing used this time is modified asphalt. It is expected to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing!
3. Custom Fabrication (Curly Patterns, Eaves, Valleys)
We will process and install the curly patterns, eaves, and valley flashing.
4. Main Construction
Once the main body is covered, we will install the purlins at the ridge and wall edges. This time, we used purlins made of corrosion-resistant resin!
5. Ridge Flashing Fabrication
We will process and install the ridge cap and ventilation ridge. We will firmly apply sealing on the inside of the joints.
We will process and install a component called rain stop flashing at the wall edge.
6. Cleaning
We will remove footprints and any debris that may have fallen around the house and in the rain gutters, and perform a thorough cleaning.
We strive to leave the area cleaner after the work than it was before!
That concludes the construction!
The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry.
The Super Galtect comes with a manufacturer warranty of 15 years for the coating and 25 years for perforation.
We also provide a 10-year construction warranty!

Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal sheet that integrates the steel plate and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter experience.
Additionally, it has soundproofing properties, which reduce the sound of rain.
Being lighter than other roofing materials, it also minimizes the sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.

What is the Roof Overlay (Cover Method)?
The roof overlay method involves leaving the current roof almost as it is and placing a new roof on top of it, effectively covering it.
Literally, it is a method of covering a roof with another roof. Therefore, the roof becomes double-layered. Since the roof is laid over, it is also referred to as “overlapping roofing.”
Benefits of the Overlay Method
Since a “new roof” is placed over the “current roof,” demolition work is almost unnecessary, meaning that very little waste is generated.
This is its most significant feature, leading to various benefits.
The only part that requires demolition and waste disposal is the ridge cap, so compared to complete roof replacement, the cost is lower.
In 2004, regulations regarding the concentration of asbestos in raw materials were changed (for details, please refer to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare website).
Some building materials used in structures constructed before 2004 contain asbestos. Asbestos-containing materials are difficult to demolish due to their high environmental impact, and the costs for demolition and waste disposal are also high. The overlay method, which generates almost no waste, is ideal for such roofs.
Some may wonder, “Is it safe to live in a building that uses asbestos-containing materials?” but rest assured. As long as there is no destruction or crushing, it will not disperse into the air.
