This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Koganei City, Tokyo.
The work involved a roof overlay (cover method) using Super Galtect!
We implemented measures against leaks through the roofing work!

The existing roofing material is Grisheid NEO, which is prone to cracking and is not suitable for painting!
The effective renovation methods are either the overlay method or a complete roof replacement, so we proposed the overlay method this time!

Roof Overlay Construction Procedure

1. Existing Roof Ridge Flashing

We will dismantle unnecessary parts (ridge cap) for the roof overlay (cover method)!The durability of wooden purlins is about 10 to 15 years. Once the durability period is exceeded, corrosion and discoloration can occur, leading to the detachment and scattering of the ridge cap.

2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)

The roofing used is Jouyu Pulp Industry/Sunlight G!
It is made of modified asphalt roofing, which is said to have double the durability of regular asphalt roofing.
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, there will be no leaks! We will ensure it is securely attached to prevent it from blowing away.

3. Component Processing (Curved Patterns, Eaves, Valleys)

Before the main roofing work, we will process and install components such as eaves and curved patterns!

The components used are genuine parts from Galttect, made of SGL copper plate! SGL steel plate is expected to have three times the corrosion resistance of Galvalume steel!

4. Main Construction (Aiji Industry/Super Galttect)

After processing the components, we will install the Galttect main roofing up to the ridge!
Once the roofing is completed up to the ridge, we will install the necessary materials to secure the ridge cap, known as the purlin. There are types of purlins made of cedar and resin, and this time we used a resin type!

With resin materials, you can expect twice the durability compared to cedar!

5. Ridge Cap Processing and Sealing

Next, we will process and install the ridge cap. We will thoroughly apply sealing on the inside of the joints. For the wall edges, we will process and install a component called rain guard metal.
We use stainless steel nails and screws that are resistant to rust!

6. Cleaning

We will clean up any debris that has fallen onto the balcony and rain gutters. We will thoroughly remove items like nails and metal scraps that could cause injuries. Additionally, we will wipe off any footprints left on the roof to keep it clean.

About the Roofing Material

The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijie Industry.
The Super Galtect comes with a 15-year warranty on the coating and a 25-year warranty against perforation.
We also provide a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is resistant to rust.
Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal panel that integrates steel plate and insulation.
During installation, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a high heat-reflective paint, allowing for a cool summer and warm winter experience.
It also has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Additionally, it is lighter compared to other roofing materials, which reduces the sway during earthquakes, providing earthquake resistance.
It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and our company has the most installations of Aijie Industry’s Super Galtect, making it highly regarded!
