Hello!
We are Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd., a specialist in roofing, exterior wall painting, and exterior renovations located in Aoba-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture!
This is a case study of an exterior renovation project in Kohoku-ku, Yokohama.
There are several types of exterior renovations, and this particular project involves exterior wall painting!

On this page, we will explain the actual results of the work carried out by Kakeru Koumuten!
Thank you very much for choosing Kakeru Koumuten Co., Ltd. from among many contractors.

Exterior Wall Painting Construction Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing

First, we thoroughly remove dirt and moss attached to the exterior walls using high-pressure washing!

2. Protection of Areas

Next, we use masking tape, blue sheets, and polymer masks to protect windows, sashes, floors, and other areas that will not be painted. This is a very important task in the painting process! If protection is neglected, gaps may form, allowing paint to seep in, or clean lines may not be achieved.

3. Primer Application

This is the first step of applying paint after high-pressure washing and substrate treatment, using a primer that helps the middle and top coats adhere firmly to the painted surface. By applying the primer thoroughly, there will be a significant difference in durability and finish!

4. Middle Coat

This is an important process to bring out the performance of the paint, achieve a beautiful finish, and eliminate unevenness in application!

5. Top Coat

The final step is the top coat, which is the finishing touch for exterior wall painting. We focus on ensuring there are no uneven spots or missed areas, resulting in a beautiful finish! The paint used is from SK Kaken / Premium Inorganic!

5. Top Coat5. Top Coat

6. Accessory Painting (Eaves and Water Cutting Metal)

Eaves

Water Cutting Metal

We will carefully paint every detail! For metal parts, we will apply a rust preventive primer before the intermediate and top coats!

Joint Replacement Work Procedure

1. Removal of Existing Sealing Material

First, we will remove the existing sealing material using a cutter or similar tool.
This is referred to as sealing, caulking, or jointing. It is a crucial area that can easily lead to water leaks and can cause cracking or lifting of the siding. Cracks and peeling are signs of deterioration!
When performing clear coating and sealing work, you must not apply clear paint on new sealing, so it will be sealing work after clear coating!

2. Masking (Applying Masking Tape)

Next, confirm the position for applying the tape and carefully attach it to avoid any overlap on the surface.

3. Application of Primer

Next, apply the primer with a brush or similar tool, ensuring there are no missed spots.

What is Primer: It acts like an adhesive! It is commonly used for surface preparation! It is an essential step in sealing work, as it enhances adhesion!

4. Filling with Sealing Material

Press the nozzle of the caulking gun against the joint base and fill it sufficiently. The caulking material used is SR Seal H100.

5. Trowel Finishing

Next, use a trowel that matches the joint width to press firmly and finish smoothly.

6. Removal of Masking Tape

Finally, promptly remove the masking tape after finishing.

Balcony Waterproofing Construction Procedure

1. Surface Preparation and Roughening

To improve the adhesion of the paint, we will create fine scratches on the painting surface! This is known as substrate treatment! We will roughen the smooth surface!

2. Acetone Wiping

Next, we will perform acetone wiping! This is also an important substrate treatment. Acetone wiping is the process of wiping off the oil film from the FRP waterproofing surface! Skipping this step can lead to paint peeling.

3. Primer Application (First Coat)

The primer acts as an adhesive that enhances the adhesion between the waterproof layer and the top coat!

4. Application of the Top Coat

The top coat is applied in two basic layers!
After finishing, we check for any missed spots.

5. Completion of Balcony Waterproofing Work

The work is complete once the balcony is dry!

We were able to finish beautifully once again!
