If the nail board inside the ridge cap flashing rots, it can cause the ridge cap flashing to detach and scatter in strong winds, which is very dangerous.
Additionally, the top part of the roof, known as the ridge, is not covered by roofing materials, making it prone to leaks.
It is considered a critical point of the roof.
However, the rotting of the wooden parts inside the ridge cap flashing is difficult to notice since it is internal.
Therefore, we recommend replacement every 10 years.
Ridge cap flashing can easily detach, and if left unnoticed, it can accelerate the progression of rot.
Thus, we recommend annual maintenance.
