Exterior Painting Construction Procedure

1. High-Pressure Washing

Using bio-cleaning, we thoroughly remove dirt and moss from the roof! Unlike high-pressure washing that uses water pressure to remove dirt, bio-cleaning involves mixing chemicals to clean bacteria, moss, and plants from the roots!

2. Protection of Areas

We will protect areas that will not be painted, such as windows, sashes, and floors, using masking tape, blue sheets, and polymer masks. This is a very important task in the painting process! If protection is neglected, gaps can form, allowing paint to seep in or resulting in uneven lines.

3. Primer Application

This is the first step of applying paint after completing high-pressure washing and surface preparation. It is a primer that ensures the middle and top coats adhere well to the surface. By applying the primer thoroughly, there is a significant difference in durability and finish! The primer we use also has surface adjustment functions, which help seal fine cracks!

The paint used this time is the Nano Composite Filler from Mizutani Paint.

4. Middle Coat

This is an important process to bring out the performance of the paint, achieve a beautiful finish, and eliminate uneven application!

The paint used this time is the Nano Composite W from Mizutani Paint.

5. Top Coat

This is the finishing touch for the exterior wall painting. We are conscious of achieving a beautiful finish without any unevenness or missed spots! The paint used is Mizutani Paint’s Nano Composite W, just like in the intermediate coat. The manufacturer’s expected durability is said to be about 12 to 16 years. The durability may vary depending on the region and sunlight exposure.

6. Painting of Attached Parts (Eaves, Fascia, Rain Shutters)

We will carefully paint every detail! We will apply rust prevention paint thoroughly on metal parts before the topcoat!

The paint used for the eaves and fascia is from Rock Paint/Yume Rock. The paint used for the soffit is from Nippon Paint/Ken Ace.

Balcony Waterproofing Construction Procedure

1. Surface Preparation and Roughening

To improve the adhesion of the paint, we will create fine scratches on the surface to be painted! This is known as surface treatment! We will make the smooth surface rough!

2. Acetone Wiping

Next, we will perform acetone wiping! This is also an important surface treatment. Acetone wiping is the process of removing the oil film from the FRP waterproofing surface! Skipping this step can lead to paint peeling.

3. Primer Application (Base Coat)

The primer acts as an adhesive that promotes the adhesion between the waterproof layer and the topcoat!

4. Topcoat Application

The topcoat is typically applied in two layers!

Once finished, we will check for any missed spots.

5. Balcony Waterproofing Work Completion

The work is complete once the balcony is dry!
