Roof Overlay (Cover Method) Construction Procedure
1. Demolition of Existing Ridge and Snow Stops
The existing ridge base is made of cedar, which has a durability of about 10 to 15 years.
Exceeding the durability period can lead to corrosion and discoloration, resulting in the ridge cap coming loose or being blown away.
2. Roofing Installation (Waterproof Sheet)・Accessory Processing (Karakusa, Keraba,Valley,Ridge Base)
As a primary waterproofing measure, if the roofing is properly installed, it will generally not leak!
We will securely attach this to prevent it from being blown away by the wind. Since there are various durability periods and characteristics for roofing sheets, it is important to choose a roofing sheet that matches the durability of the new roofing material and the roof slope!
3. Main Construction (Aijii Industry / Super Galtect)
The main roofing material will be secured with stainless steel renovation screws!
At the ridge, we will install the necessary ridge base to secure the ridge cap. The types of wood we handle include cedar, resin, and galvalume steel, and this time we used galvalume steel.
Galvalume steel products are expected to have three times the durability compared to cedar, and unlike resin or cedar, they do not crack, providing peace of mind!
Our original integrated waste board Galvalume steel ridge base is highly durable, has strong fixation, and excellent wind resistance! Even if rainwater enters from the ridge, it has a mechanism to discharge rainwater to the outside, demonstrating high waterproofing performance!
4.Ridge Cap Processing and Sealing at Various Locations
The screws used for fixation are stainless steel screws with washers that are resistant to rust!
Screws with washers are less likely to come loose compared to nails, securely fixing the ridge cap to the purlin!
Although it is not visible after construction, installing a face plate inside the ridge cap enhances waterproofing! It firmly protects the ridge, which is a critical part of the roof.
5. Cleaning
About Roofing Materials
The roofing material used is the Super Galtect from Aijii Industry. The Super Galtect comes with a 15-year paint warranty and a 25-year hole warranty, and we also provide a 10-year construction warranty!
Made of SGL steel plate, it is highly resistant to rust. Insulation material is tightly applied from edge to edge of the roofing material, creating a metal plate that integrates steel and insulation.
When installed, insulation is applied even to the parts where the roofing materials overlap, and the surface is coated with a highly heat-resistant paint, allowing for a cool summer and a warm winter. It also has soundproofing properties, reducing the sound of rain.
Moreover, it is lighter compared to other roofing materials, which reduces the sway during earthquakes, making it a good earthquake countermeasure. It excels in finish, durability, insulation, soundproofing, and wind resistance, and our company has the most installations of Aijii Industry’s Super Galtect, making it highly regarded!
