Roof Overlay Construction Procedure
1. Removal of Existing Ridge and Snow Stops
The durability of wooden battens is about 10 to 15 years. Once the durability period is exceeded, corrosion and discoloration occur, leading to the detachment and scattering of the ridge cap.
2. Laying Roofing (Waterproof Sheet)
Tadi Self Cover is a roofing sheet ideal for the overlay method of fragile slate and non-asbestos roofing materials. It serves as a secondary waterproofing layer, and as long as the roofing is solid, it basically won’t leak!
We will firmly attach this to prevent it from being blown away by the wind. Since there are various durability periods and characteristics for roofing sheets, it is important to choose a roofing sheet that matches the durability of the new roofing material and the roof slope!
3.Accessory Processing (Curly Patterns and Eaves)
Before the installation of the main roof, we will process and install accessories such as arabesque and keraba. We use SGL steel plate for the keraba and arabesque, which are genuine Galttect parts!
The metal fittings at the ridge will be our original integrated waste board ridge base. It has a durability of approximately 30 years and offers high wind resistance. [/chat]
4. Main Construction (Deetrading / Dees Roofing “Classic Tile”)
The durability of the galvalume steel batten is approximately 30 to 35 years, making it highly durable. Unlike resin or cedar, it does not crack, so it is recommended!
Our original integrated waste board ridge base made of galvalume steel plate is highly durable, offers strong fixation, and has excellent wind resistance!
Even if rainwater enters from the ridge, it has a mechanism to discharge rainwater to the outside, providing high waterproofing performance!
It is perfect for the super Galttect ridge base!
5. Ridge Metal Processing & Sealing at Various Locations
At the wall edge, we will process and install a component called rain gutter flashing.
We will use stainless steel screws with waterproof packing that are resistant to rust for fastening!
Unlike nails, screws with packing are less likely to pull out
and securely fasten the ridge flashing to the wood!
Although it is not visible after installation,
by attaching a face plate to the inside of the ridge flashing,
waterproofing is enhanced!
We will thoroughly protect the ridge, which is a critical point of the roof.
6. Cleaning
Additionally, we will wipe off any footprints that may have appeared on the roof to keep it clean.
About Roofing Materials
The roofing material used is Dee Trading / Deez Roofing “Classic Tile.” Deez Roofing comes with a 30-year warranty on the base material, and we also provide a 10-year workmanship warranty!
It is made from zinc-aluminum steel, which has the same composition as rust-resistant galvalume steel.
Deez Roofing reduces the thermal conductivity to the steel plate layer due to the effect of the surface stone granules. It has a structure that makes it less likely to transfer heat to the attic compared to other roofing materials by ensuring a sufficient air layer between the roofing material and the roof substrate.
Additionally, the unevenness of the surface stone granules has the effect of dispersing raindrops, causing them to hit with a smaller size compared to a regular smooth surface. As a result, the high-frequency noise caused by the micro-vibrations of the steel plate when raindrops hit, which is the source of the “noisy sound” of steel roofs, can also be suppressed by the surface natural stone granule layer.
By adopting the “interlocking method” that integrates roofing materials, it not only has the performance to withstand winds of up to 60m/s but also excels in fire resistance and waterproofing.
